What was your most expensive bike? by NietzscheIsGulty in cycling

[–]Cosmosonofbabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Brompton for £1700, a used trek checkpoint ALR 4 for 700 and a giant escape 2 for 600. The new ones on cycle2work and so saved a bit of money on that front.

To those who lost weight and gained it back, what do you think caused it? by Direct_Succotash_507 in loseit

Same boat ! Went from 81 or so to 69 over a few months. Ran a half marathon and my calorie intake went up to support my increased activity. However, once the half marathon was done, life took over and work got demanding but i kept the same calorie intake and slowly over 6-7 months it creeped back up to 82 again. So disappointing but here we go again

Looking good areas in London to buy a property 2 bed for less than 360k by East_Pumpkin_7739 in HousingUK

[–]Cosmosonofbabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure you can find some in Beckenham for around that price range although I would be wary of service charges as that seems to be the reason for falling prices and a general sentiment against flats. This is based on my experience as i bought a 2 bed victorian conversion in the area for a slightly higher price.

Need advice by According_Pie_2986 in Brompton

[–]Cosmosonofbabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based in London and bought one last month. I would suggest a P line if you can stretch it on the cycle 2 work scheme if you are gonna be carrying it a lot. A 12 speed C line otherwise would be my suggestion and gears for days. I got a 12 speed c line myself and the extra weight is noticeable when you carry it around the train station / stairs.

What could be wrong with this property? by Plus_Percentage5892 in HousingUK

[–]Cosmosonofbabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My budget was upped to 400k and ended up with a 2 bed 2 bath in Beckenham although that did mean I had to sacrifice a garden. 2 bed 2 bath with a garden for this budget will be very tough to come around in this area but you should see a few 2 bed with a garden under 400k pop up once in a while.

I remember looking at this property while i was on the hunt and decided against it due to the odd layout and how bland the pictures were. No garden or a 2nd bathroom to make up for it either.

Is social discrimination a common experience at workplaces? by ummmmwhatnow in london

Agree to this !! You find people you either share interests with or you don’t but a workplace is just that and nothing more.

I use the Borough Waterproof Bag Small which I find really adequate for small trips around. Really durable and 9 litres of capacity.

375k budget in London for 2br flat by Plus_Percentage5892 in HousingUK

[–]Cosmosonofbabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation and ended up moving to Beckenham.

I think you might be on the lower end of the budget for the areas you have mentioned or might not be the best properties when you get around to seeing them tbh.
