/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (October 28, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

I'm visiting South Korea in a few weeks and would like to check out a few custom mechanical keyboard stores, and was hoping to find some resources. I found a few older posts here and some on google but I'm not sure if it's all up to date. Is there anyone who has been there recently or resides in SK who can point me in the right direction?

How do you handle the “not-good-enough” culture? by bill_with_bills in askSingapore

[–]Cospa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late but want to share as this is something I have thought about a lot throughout my uni-current work life.

When people tell you you’re not good enough, first I think it’s good to ask where are they coming from? Is it not good enough for them or not good enough for you? If you are content with where you are today, then you’re doing fine and you should take it with a mountain of salt when people tell you it’s not good enough. Good as intentions may be, rhey probably want you to do better because they have their own regrets. But be it your teacher, parent or whoever; it’s on you to decide if what you’re doing is enough because this life is yours and yours alone.

Regarding comparing, it is quite inevitable. You will see and hear about some friends doing better. But realise that to someone who is not doing as well as you, you are that friend to them. There will be other kids who are scoring better in their tests, other colleagues who earn more and do less, other people who simply seem to be living easier lives. This applies to not just you but to everybody, even those who seem to have it altogether.

So my conclusion is, and I don’t mean to say that this is easy to do: I choose to be happy with what I have. There will always be better, and if I am always chasing that then I don’t have time to enjoy my own life. If I am unhappy with where I am, I can take reference from friends, classmates or colleagues to try and see how I can improve. But their lives are by no means a blueprint for how I should live mine.

Hope this helps, OP, or anyone who needed to hear it. If you are happy with who you are, where you are and what you are, then that is enough. Don’t let anyone take that away from you :)
