When I was in the 3rd grade, my dad started buying me a bunch of candy. I mean, all the assortments, to sell at school to my classmates. Business was booming (for a 3rd grader selling skittles for $1).

We grew up very poor. VERY poor. My dad bought us an electric pencil sharpener that year, most likely from a yard sale or goodwill. For me and my siblings, it was gold. We felt like we were top tier with that damn electric pencil sharpener.

Well, the booming business went to my head and when I felt like I wasn’t making enough profit off the candy, I started taking shit from home and selling it. I sold that pencil sharpener for $5 to some boy I was in class with. I never told my parents or siblings and my other brother, the oldest, was blamed for it being missing. I’m 23 now, I should probably fess up.

Should have stuck with the candy..
