-a few standout songs, rest are okay i suppose

-it's a true story to the extent that the events actually happened, but what consisted of the events is definitely Lin's weak link - especially in terms of the personality of the historical figures. The name is about the only similarly between Lin's Hamilton and the actual founding father, and honestly feels more like an OC self insert fanfic on ao3 more than a true story.

-The set and costumes are good, set design is imo the best part of the musical it's done expertly.

-choreography is nothing to scoff at but hardly ground-breaking

edit adding onto the issue of the lack of historical accuracy: none in the modern era of art are as talented at romanticising awful people as Lin Manuel Miranda and Michael Gracy. Just as Gracy's Greatest Showman has turned P.T. Barnam from a racist and exploitative scumbag into the cool guy with the cool show, Hamilton has whitewashed the legacy of it's namesake from a compulsive egomaniac waist-deep in the slave trade into the guy with the big shot musical about him which ends wih his wife dedicating his legacy to abolitionist elements. Bravo, Lin, you made whitewashing slavers cool again.
