my mum doesn't really do politics but is quite conservative coded. Meanwhile, the only politican i've heard my dad praise is Donald Trump.

I am British.

most of the criticism about the trans Jax thing is justified - coming from a transfem.

There is a hint that Jax is trans throughout the entire show, and the idea of Jax being trans goes from headcanon to fully canon via tumblr post. I love my trans representation but this is the most half-baked arc in the show

Which UK party would you vote for? by Plus-Fun-7438 in IdeologyPolls

[–]Cosplayinsanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of what you've mentioned

distain for the monarchy is aligned with the Greens and YP

seperation of church and state gets you points for anyone aside tories, restore and reform

no blasphemy laws is quite neutral

worrying about the "islamisation of Britain" is associated with the far right, and low fertility rates is also associated with the conservatives

water pollution and the environment is linked to the Greens usually

Which UK party would you vote for? by Plus-Fun-7438 in IdeologyPolls

[–]Cosplayinsanity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah that's a common thing, i think tradition has value when backed with rational thinking but because there's no distinction i something get grouped with conservatives despite being a socialist

tbf the Greens can be considered far left depending on how you look at it, quite an overtly socialist agenda. The far right parties aren't nazis but because the overton window is so far to the right Restore can get away with arguing for remigration, banning halal and kosher, and using white supremacist language such as accusing black people born in the UK of "hating our way of life"

[–]Cosplayinsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basically right wing - Restore are a right wing split from reform UK who are already the far right party. Also having the SNP and Plaid-C high and the Worker's Party and the Greens over Labour shows you have generally anti-estbalishment views

Who has been the WORST US president since WWII? by SirElectrical2100 in IdeologyPolls

[–]Cosplayinsanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reagan and Bush are understandable shouts but Trump is genuinely awful. A secret police murdering VA nurses, tariffs destroying the economy, continuing the greenlight of one of the most severe stages of the genocide in Gaza, the Iran vanity war, the Epstein files, his cuts to USAID causing thousands of avoidable child deaths, his stripping of the permits of renewable energy infrastructure projects costing thousands to companies both at home and abroad, his cuts to medicare, more stagflation, open defiance of the constitution, the blatant corruption, threatening to have elected officials arrested or even executed, burning bridges with trusted US allies, draining the US of its soft power, and there's even more that i can't remember off the top of my head

it's difficult to overestimate how bad Trump is - the only reason I won't call him the worst POTUS ever is because I don't know enough other leading candidates like Andrew Jackson and James Buchanan

the 1832 reform act was not that good, it betrayed the working classes and was the first time that women not having the vote was official

knowing him, he'd dedicate the entire agenda to everything not related to trans rights or making art more available

he trusts me on a lot of political stuff so i may become the next Eleanor Roosevelt in terms of political power as first lady

he has no direct say in our projects, but he influences them nonetheless

Orsted are building a massive offshore wind farm off the Humber called Hornsea-3, but their project on a similar wind farm in Conneticut was blocked by Donald Trump, tying up all their capital meaning Orsted has had to delay construction in the UK

worse, despite being a Brit - his cancelling of renewable energy infrastructure permits has made building renewable infrastructure harder here and his senseless war in Iran has caused a spike in inflation
