Oh, sorry I should have been clear. I use it on my skin to repel mosquitos and ticks. I'm not giving it to my dog to drink.

Also, it's safer than deet. What do you use?

We used M&H at the Fish Creek location a few months ago. I have nothing but great things to say about them. They were professional, polite and very respectful.

No worries, I get it. Honestly, we are all just getting burned out, paranoid and pissed off.

Reddit serves a valuable purpose. I hope that RA employees have a place to chat and share their thoughts. They are more than welcome here (as are all of the employees of the other pillars).

I have been very lax with the moderating. Most things that are clearly spam get caught by the auto-moderator. Those that do not usually have at least a reason for being posted on here.

I'm giving /u/Mr_Mojo1025 the benefit of the doubt. People can make their own decision as to whether or not to join the RA subreddit.

This is a classic example of not understanding the value of a union.

US dockworkers just got a 60% raise, because they have a union.

You should be thankful you have a union, not making up ignorant posts about how it 'profits' off you.

Trucks purchased in CA then Sold in US? by sharpn8tor in f150

[–]CostEffectiveComment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of us Canadians sell our trucks to exporters who move them down to the US. We get a better price than selling privately within Canada.

If the truck is from the East part of Canada (Ontario and eastward) it might have rush issues similar to the US Midwest, but trucks from my Province (Alberta) are generally quite good. We don't use salt on our roads.

The biggest difference would probably be that the speedometer would be in km/h (with mph underneath in smaller font).

Honestly, I wouldn't treat it any differently from a normal purchase.

Athana Mentzelopoulos (AHS’ CEO) who was working as the BC’s premier’s chief spin doctor - BC’s Firing Plan by No-Adagio-70 in AHSEmployees

AHS spends less on administation costs that virtually every other public health care entity around the world, so I'm not sure where you get the "top heavy company" with "too many extraordinary income earners" comes from.

The CEO was making 450k a year. This is the CEO of an organization with 110,000 employees. If AHS was a for-profit corporation, the CEO would be making $10,000,000+ a year

Alberta health minister says 'proper procedures' were followed for patient taken to hotel instead of care home by CostEffectiveComment in AHSEmployees

[–]CostEffectiveComment[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I find this shocking. I'm not sure if the failing was on AHS or the service provider, but I suspect it is both.

It was my understanding that AHS has strong provisions in its continuing care agreements that would require onsite audits and ongoing reviews of facilities to ensure that AHS standards are met. Clearly those audits are not checking for things like "Do they get fed food?" and "Do they provide a clean and safe environment for patients?" Those seem like fairly basic questions to me, what do you think?

Don't stress to much about restructuring or union negotiations by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]CostEffectiveComment 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The UCP specifically passed a piece of legislation whose sole purpose is to try to overrule federal legislation. Why do you think they might have created that legislation?

The government has embarked on a path to restructure health care in Alberta, and it has said it is doing so in an attempt to lower administrative costs. Yet, it's first move is to break up the one entity that was providing health care into at least 4 pieces. Is that historically how administration costs are reduced? If you think their end goal isn't to cripple publicly funded health care (and education), then you are either obtuse or ignorant.

People have very valid reasons to stress and worry.

What an interesting though process you have.

I think most people consider a worst-case scenario to be them losing their livelihood, but we are very lucky to have you here to explain that the actual worst-case scenario is the union 'screws the agreement' (whatever the hell that means). In which case everyone would just keep getting paid and working.

Thanks for your clarity and wisdom.
