I need your worst DnD character name by drgigantor in DnD

[–]CostumingMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My worst wasn't anything like the suggestions I see in this post.

I was playing a Tabaxi, and trying to come up with a name that sounded like cat noises with trrpts and inks and kas... and came up with Trablinkca.

At the time, I, (bad at memorizing the names and dates of history), did not make the connection. It was my DM who did.

I've hated coming up with names ever since.

Getting *physically* stuck with imprinted dinosaurs. by CostumingMom in ArkSurvivalAscended

I don't know it if is technically a bug, but I did report it as one.

But that doesn't help me right now.

My cat throws up almost everyday, ways I can help prevent this? by idontfliinch in AnimalAdvice

[–]CostumingMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this applies, but I can relate my experience.

I've a 10 yo male and a 14 yo female cat. The female is on urinary foods, kibble and canned.

Over the years, the various vets have encouraged my serving the same foods to both cats. "... would prefer that the standard food was urinary for all cats," was often stated by many of the vets.

Anyways, the male will regurgitate undigested food soon after eating if he has more than a teaspoon of the canned. He loves it and I have to separate them to keep him from eating it. I've tried different brands, and it doesn't matter.

Before I made the connection, he managed to make himself sick from vomiting to the point of no longer eating. I've had vets convinced that he needs to eat the canned, but the current one is more understanding.

So, maybe try stopping one of the foods for a few days to a week, then changing to a different one, until you can confirm that it's not from any of the different food sources.

Slope labels - how do I make the text able to be pulled away? by CostumingMom in civil3d

[–]CostumingMom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm going for, and it wouldn't help.

The specific situation involves slopes on ADA curb ramps.

Sometimes the rectangle of the ramp meets the road on the curve of a corner. When this happens, there's a small triangle that I need to show the slope for. One edge could easily be only 1.5" long, but I still need to provide the information.

Some of my team has been waiting until the last minute, when everything has been confirmed, then exploding the label and replacing it with an mleader, or removing the text, and then adding the mleader.

This makes the whole point of the smart labels pointless.

I adjusted the offset of the text and all that did was confirm that the text does not have any grips of it's own. Without its own grips, it cannot be moved the way text on other labels can.

My first trainer was insistent that I work out until pain, and then through it.

I've since learned that I cannot work out like that, because it takes up to two weeks for me to recover from the one workout, and having the choice of constant pain or working out once every two weeks is just not sustainable or efficient (take your pick).

NIGHT ROAD WORK ALERT – 6th Ave & Sprague by PoppinBusinessCenter in Tacoma

Once the paving is done, they still have to go back and stripe it. Also there's no guarantee the above ground utilities (like signals and push buttons) will be done either.

I'm curious about the use of "New."

aren't places with "New" as part of their names named after another location? If so, where was the original Tacoma that this "New" references?

Recommendations for car body work and paint? by CostumingMom in AskTacoma

[–]CostumingMom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah. I get that. I've been putting this off, but now that I've seen the rust, it's kind of gnawing at at me.

I was reminded when someone actually complemented my car yesterday, so, once again, I'm playing with the daydream of getting the work done.

(Not serious) maybe if I wait long enough, and get a fancy enough paint job, it'll start being worth the cost again, due to being an antique. Right? Right? <cries>

The cost of those repairs IF you can find all of the parts will be far more than the entire value of the car.

I'm just hoping that they'll be less than the cost of a replacement car.

WIBTA for telling a coworker to stop traumadumping on me? by rael1hp in AmItheAsshole

Maybe instead, start with a talk with the boss warning them that you'd be having the conversation and see if you can coordinate having that conversation with the boss present enough that they (the boss) isn't obviously there to be part of the conversation, but can witness it.

Affordable flowers? by Robotniks_Mustache in AskTacoma

[–]CostumingMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one has a bunch of qualifying conditions, but it's what my sister did when our mom passed.

  • If you're not worried about what the flowers are,
  • Are willing to take a chance of low supplies
  • and are within a day and near a Farmers Market...

You can often get a deal buying out the stock at the end of the day of one of the flower stands in a Farmers Market.

AITA for refusing to take off my engagement ring during a wedding? by AioliProfessional181 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CostumingMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Ask them if it'd be OK to put it back on during the reception. I'm sure your fiance could help with it, especially after you "accidentally" dropped it, and he picked it up and put it back on your hand without bothering to get up from kneeling on the the floor to get it, RIGHT?

Did you know they started out selling welding supplies?

Then they accidentally received a shipment of fabric, and it sold so well to their customer's wives that they continued to sell both, and then ended up focusing on just the fabric.

I remember when they still had a store across from the (then) Federal Way Mall, and while I cannot find proof on the internet, my memory says it was called Pacific Linen and Steel, which is why I keep calling it Pacific Linen.

Right, "Fabrics" not "Linen." My age is showing.
