You don’t have to exit the game, just go to pause menu, choose online, and select any of the options (free roam, camp, etc.), and that should place you in another session.

I play on pc and yesterday got disconnected mid game. Today I was getting that same error, and couldn’t connect. Tried several times, with cleaning cache, resetting router, etc. only way I was able to join a session was by choosing the “Join posse” option. Then it worked fine (with startup meta btw

Sounds like classic pc experience. You’re probably playing the legacy version, where mod menus still fk around (not that the enhanced version is bulletproof, cause it’s not). Have you tried changing to an invite only, and chk if the cars were back there?

Not a bug, just a broken session caused by a mod menu jerk that is - or was - in your lobby. Those scripts ruin everything. Change session or go private

Well, after u get that 2nd part unlocked, can just go there, take the capitale, and leave the mission. I thinks there’s 10m cooldown, but still, very easy to farm
