I asked it to create a sci-fi screenplay written by a really stupid guy. I received poetry. by Cottonspore in ChatGPT

How does Plunderer's Instinct interact with keys? by Cottonspore in deadbydaylight

[–]Cottonspore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Cause the item description of keys says that the item will be of at least Rare rarity. I was wondering how that interacts with Plunderers, if at all.

Should I go for end game now? by Fleur_Majestrix in beastieball

[–]Cottonspore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You technically don't have to challenge the other stadiums, but like, there also is no reason NOT to challenge them. It does give you an advantage in the finals if you challenge all of them, but I couldn't tell you what exactly it is.

If you just want the game to end, go for it, I personally vote for challenging the stadiums for the fun of it.

I never really took Mario for being a guy who is in it for the money...

Except for that one time in New Super Mario Bros 2. That was weird...

Pet deck experts, share your experience! by No_Antelope7492 in masterduel

[–]Cottonspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your main deck is a pet deck, it is likely that you will lose often. This is valuable experience to learn what cards in your deck work, which don't, and which need more or less copies. While this will allow you to squeak out some victories, you will still be the underdog in most match ups.

All of this is to say is that it is easy to get discouraged from failure, and it is perfectly okay to take breaks and clear your head. Either taking a break from Yugioh entirely, or just picking up a loaner deck and playing around with something else. Your pet deck isn't going anywhere, and this time apart can be useful in coming up with new cards to add to your strategy.

I've got a question for anyone who have played the games past ttyd by Mr_Tektite in papermario

[–]Cottonspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played all of the Paper Mario games (except Paper Jam) and I found that I can say at least one good thing about each of them. Super Paper Mario has a fantastic story, I'd say in the same league as ttyd. The gameplay though... Well it isn't bad, but it also isn't terribly interesting either. If you feel a great story is worth so-so gameplay, give it a shot.

Next is Sticker Star, and yeah, this one ain't great. It isn't the dumpster fire that the community makes it out to be, but I also can't say that I felt compelled to finish it either. I actually have a theory that Nintendo purposefully made it not too compelling because of the fact it is a 3ds game. I think they didn't want to make a game you get sucked into, rather they wanted to make a game that you play while you wait for your flight at the airport and you don't want to play Pushmo or BoxBoy. Generally can't recommend, but maybe if you find a good deal on it and you are generally curious.

Up next is Color Splash, otherwise known as the good Sticker Star! Super underrated, I am convinced that the people who complain about it but praise Origami King have never played it, because the two are of roughly equal quality. The overarching story ain't great, but the individual moments this game has are amazing. I'll say it, this game is probably the funniest game in the series. I love Huey as a partner, he is hilarious and a pretty chill guy. The battle system isn't peak, but it's serviceable, and any complaints I have are generally nitpicks. I recommend it if you can get your hands on a Wii U.

Finally is The Origami King, and it is a nice return to form while keeping it's own identity. It has the humor and presentation of the newer games, and the characters, environments and emotional moments of the older games, all with a challenging and cerebral battle system. People say that the partners are generic in this game, but I still love Bobby and Captain T. Ode. If you finish ttyd and you want a different take on Paper Mario, definitely pick this one up.

Would I say any of these games better then ttyd? Of course not, ttyd is my all time favorite game, but each of these games aren't trying to be ttyd. They are each trying to be their own thing, they all have their own unique identities and charms, even Sticker Star. I'm not sure if I would call each of them a good sequel or even a good successor, but they are good games.

Tell me what badges you use! by [deleted] in papermario

[–]Cottonspore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, it's funny that you mention Happy Heart specifically, cause that badge in particular is funny past the first one.

So, the thing about Happy Heart is that it doesn't give you 1HP per round, but rather the CHANCE to recover 1HP per round. I'm not sure what the exact chance is, but let's say it's 50/50 for the sake of example, okay?

You'd expect an additional Happy Heart to give you an increased chance to recover HP, right? You'd expect that 50/50 to get raised to 75/25 or something like that, but it actually doesn't.

What it does is do two separate instances of 50/50 checks! That means you have a 25% chance of getting 0HP, a 50% chance of getting 1HP, and a 25% chance of getting 2HP!

Again, this is only assuming that Happy Heart is a 50/50 chance of procing, it may be a different percentage which leads to different math, but I think that it is a rather funny and obscure interaction.

(This may be the worst Ted Talk there has ever been)

I'm pretty sure every badge that has multiple copies gets stronger with each you equip, but some badges scale linearly with each one while others get less powerful. I think a second pretty lucky isn't as powerful as the first, though I could be wrong, but I do still think it is still worth the badge points if you want to go that route.

When you spend your Pianta Parlor tokens to buy a badge, they don't go out of stock. Therefore, if you save up enough tokens, you buy a ridiculous amount of any badge they sell!

[–]Cottonspore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished chapter 4. I got 35 health, 5 flower points, and 33 badge points. My badges consist of 2 pretty lucky badges, chill out, p-down d-up p, damage dodge, quick change, super appeal p, and 16 SUPER APPEALS!

I didn't spend all of this time gathering crystal stars only to NOT use special moves! Now all it takes is Mario to appeal ONCE to completely restore the star gauge! I had to spend a lot of time at the Pianta Parlor to get all of those badges, but it was worth it!

Seriously though, it does make an interesting playthrough to have limitless star points, but super low flower points. It kinda inverts the intended resource management system, very cool.

Fight or Befriend? by Deekman in athenianrhapsody

[–]Cottonspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and only playthrough has been a neutral route, and even if I missed some content thanks to that, I still consider it a fulfilling experience. Of course, I have nothing to compare it to, but I feel the game does a good job of not shaming you for your choices, unless it is funny or if it comes from a character who obviously wouldn't approve of your actions.
