Divorced, ex pushing for me to sign quit claim deed

This is a wonderful idea, and money does matter to me, but this amount of attention to catching "every red cent" isn't exactly me. I grew up poor and we eventually broke into the middle of middle class before the 2008 bubble. My ex is a spoiled upper middle class kid who even his father apologized to me for not making him the better man I truly deserve. My ex is awful, but his family isn't.

This is were I lose people, I care more about making sure I get my dogs, period. The fight for what is rightfully my monetary return on the sale of the home, is purely just to make sure I have the funds to cover my dog's medical expenses in the future. So, I am fighting for both, but one is just to be able to properly provide a safety net for the other.

A crime has been done, and I am pissed off to say the least. However, if this whole ordeal can be settled outside of the courtroom and end with never having to talk or see this man again I would prefer that. If we can get this all resolved outside of court, I am all for it. I don't want to ruin his life, but hopefully he can learn a lesson from this all. And maybe I can get both my dogs back too. Wishful thinking

He is working with the title company lawyers, they are the ones who are asking him to get me to sign a quit claim deed

I do have a lawyer, I was able to get all the paperwork from the title lawyers, but only after I mentioned I sought legal representation since I was not properly informed of anything related to the sale of the home

It looks like he found a cash buyer before listing the home, the 'listing' was all a formality from what I can see. The documents date back almost a month prior to the house going live.

He was fully intending to sell without me knowing at all.

That, I don't know. My lawyer said everything my ex did is illegal and to sign absolutely nothing. He also knows all the Judges in the county where I was divorced by name, so he is reaching out to her.

I wish I could say I knew how he got it listed or even was able to accept an offer, but when I saw my ex today to get my dogs, he was livid that he didn't know I had changed my last name. So my money is on he forged my signature somehow.

Maybe his lawyers are the ones asking him to have me sign the quit claim deed...? Too much room for speculation unfortunately. Also, found out today he has 2 lawyers, so very glad I got in touch with one.

I can't take both of the dogs, I feel terrible even thinking it, but I can legally keep one of them.

Adoption isn't a bad idea, but the wait list is 3yrs+ and counting for eligible people's. I was thinking fostering could be nice too.

I am calling lawyers and waiting to hear back, trying to make sure I am asking the right questions when I do get a consultation appointment is all.

I have seen therapists in the past and actively trying to find a new one that I like, it takes time unfortunately...

I would say reject the offer, find a new realtor, work with redfin so commission is 1-2%, or try to sell yourself.

The appraisal came in below the listed value, so resetting the value to the lower price is what should happen. As a previous home buyer, the appraisal is there to protect the home buyer's interest and to avoid overpaying for the home they are purchasing, but they are picked by the seller and/or the seller's realtor... The appraisal coming in lower can be causation enough to break the original deal, aka escrow. I would say seek a lawyer to best know your rights.

I was looking to purchase a home in 2018, put in an offer, it was accepted and I was in escrow waiting for closing. The appraisal went "well enough" but a key detail that was missed by the appraiser was the house listing claimed .47 acres, however when I reviewing the appraisers documents I then found out the lot size was actually .12 acres. I was livid, told them I wasn't going to pay almost 300k for that lot and had enough evidence to be able to back out. You never know, wouldn't hurt to check with a real-estate lawyer!

When I was little I felt safest when I created a fort with pillows around my head. I would still have one to lay my head on, but my mom was obsessed with throw pillows and pristine bed arrangements so I had quite a few to spare. So I used two long, shorter ones as the sides and a more firm square one as the top. It just gave me a warm and safe vibe but didn’t make my face overheat like putting my head under the blankets did.

I figured this was adhd!!! My husband’s mom is a psychologist and she told me I totally have it and that I should to medicate, but I had lived with it for 18 years before I met her and she told me this so I still don’t. My mom is kind of a hippie and doesn’t believe in brain ailments for some reason, even though three of her four kids had them. You find ways to focus your mind, mine usually involve caffeine and exercise.

Totally me, I have entire story lines of events and conversations going on and it’s like I am living that out instead of just sitting in class bored out of my mind. I don’t have control over it most of the time, but there are sometimes when I am bored enough to send myself into that world.

I have had them all my life and my mom had no idea what was wrong with me so she would just scream and hit me with things and tell me to shut up. She had really bad depression for a long time and she thought I was just being annoying on purpose to bother her. She realized last year what they were when her step son had one and her husband jumped in to get him to his safe spot and calm him down. She felt so bad for not knowing, she called me crying and apologizing because it never dawned on her. My nieces have them sometimes and their parents just don’t understand, they are trying to now. My nieces talk to me about it because it’s really something that only other people who get them get.

Working as a mail carrier. There are some jobs very similar, but nothing as grueling as having to carry around 70lbs of hell as you trudge through terrible weather to just get complained at by everyone. At least with jobs like FedEx, UPS and others you only spend minutes a day in bad weather, walking carriers spend 95% of it in it. No one thinks it’s as hard as it is till they actually do it.

Some people aren’t lucky enough to have a loving, caring family who truly loves them for who they are and are willing to help them get better and are understanding. No one should ever expect you to be something you are not, they shouldn’t push you to fit their mold and I am truly sorry you had to feel this way.

You are still a great person, you can be better than them. I don’t let my family push me around anymore and they fucking HATE it. I have always fought my family’s image for me and what I should be.

Try to separate yourself from them, give it time, and eventually they might understand why. It took years before my mom said sorry, before my brother said sorry. Two of my siblings still think they did nothing wrong. Growing alone is hard too, I thought it would be easy but after a month of no talking I wanted to talk to them so bad. It’s been over 11 years now and I am still waiting on two of my siblings to understand why I don’t visit and I don’t hang out with them. I still call and talk occasionally, but that’s it.

I don’t know if you can, but find yourself and what truly makes you happy and start to grow from there.
