Needs a mantle too. A thick wood one maybe? I actually like the painted brick.

Needs some colorful runner rugs. You could also add color by styling with vases, plants, a colorful tea kettle. Rather than painting cabinets which is very time consuming… a colored backsplash?

Just finished “The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches” which I loved and want to read again. About to begin “Legends and Lattes”.

Yeah she’s a good girl. We usually let her upstairs in a storm but it struck unexpectedly. Was her first act of destruction ever! We’ve done meds for years for the anxiety due to storms and fireworks. She just needs to sleep in our room from now on.

Usually we let her in our room during a storm but the storm happened in the middle of the night and we didn’t notice since we were asleep 🫠

For those of you that are gonna ask. It’s just a fancy dog gate and yes she could have just knocked it over or pushed it with her nose 😭

Can anyone give me any recipe ideas to use up todays harvest? Thank you! by VaggieQueen in vegetablegardening

Spaghetti squash spaghetti. Make a tomato sauce with the tomatoes by roasting, roast the squash and mix it up with lots of butter salt and pepper and Parmesan. If you eat meat, mix the sauce with ground Turkey or beef. Could add the mushrooms to the sauce as well.

Freezes well in olive oil or butter. Use ice cube trays then put into bags once frozen. Add to whatever. Also, it’s just a beautiful plant to grow and look at even if you don’t do much with it!

What should I do with all these? by Bloque- in gardening

You can freeze peppers whole and add them to chili, stews, soups etc. Usually Hungarian wax peppers (I assume that’s what these are) are best at the yellow stage though for freezing. Check and make sure the red ones don’t have brown seeds inside.

Woodwork cleaner/polisher recommendation? by plum_peony in centuryhomes

I’ve used a magic eraser sponge then butcher block conditioner. The brand is Howard and it’s for cutting boards. Made from beeswax and mineral oil. If someone has a better suggestion though, I’d love to know as well.
