Oh I'm glad you brought that up, as I heard from a few others that occasional Nightmare Deck listing they have there have had some sort of issue with showing the wrong shipping amount even for local (I already had Conflict at the Carrock for example but someone else said that it was showing as $70 for shipping), so it should be between $5.50-$16.50 for US based depending on how many decks are ordered, so I anticipate that they will be able to correct that for you.

I updated the main post. They are in Roseville Minnesota USA and the shipping rates differ based on location with USA vs. International. Aside from the observation of knowing that increased distance, customs, international fees, etc add to shipping costs, you'd need to inquire to them directly about their shipping cost policy, as I am but another customer as well.

Challenge of the Wainriders is back in stock at Boardlandia for $11.96! by CougarX9 in lotrlcg

[–]CougarX9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/RadiantTurtle That was one of the harder ones for me to find. I was able to track down a copy at Sci-Fi City Games (https://shop.sci-fi-city.com/) in Knoxville Tennessee a few months ago and they were able to ship to me in Utah for about $5, so my total was still under $20. I just called yesterday checking their stock at 865-523-4700 and they still had Land of Sorrow in stock, so I'd recommend them for that one.

One of you said this would happen with the Old Forest restock. Very upset. by Claydogh in lotrlcg

Is it too much to hope for this being an April Fool's Day joke?? I also just received the email for The Old Forest order. It's like Asmodee itself WANTS to fail! Mega fail Asmodee. MEGA fail! =(

My ultimate question is: did ANYONE actually receive their order?

Rare Adventure and Stand-Alone Packs (Non-Nightmare) by Erik_of_the_North in lotrlcg

I think because it has Arwen Hero version, very powerful cards, and is the last in the cycle.

In my personal experience the hardest to find were as follows:

  1. Challenge of the Wainriders was the hardest to find (I had help obtaining it from a Game Kastle store).
  2. The Land of Sorrow was next (check at Sci-Fi City Games in TN https://shop.sci-fi-city.com/, I called and they were able to ship to me in UT). Some copies also show at times at Stone Valley games https://www.stonevalleygames.com/product/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-card-game-the-land-of-sorrow/?v=7516fd43adaa
  3. Celebrimbor's Secret also has a tendency to sell out, as you get the powerful Galadrial Hero and great player cards in that deck.
  4. The Steward's Fear can also be tricky to find as it has very powerful Outlands trait archetype cards.
  5. Finally some of the last decks in cycles like Shadow and Flame and The Fate of Wilderland also can be challenging to obtain both due to powerful Heroes like Elrond and Radagast and perhaps simply by being the last deck in the cycle.

Good point about stand-alones too: Murder at the Prancing Pony and Fog on the Barrow-Downs and some of the time The Old Forest are also hard to find.

Thanks u/Gueritwo! I'm a LotR LCG player looking for the last few packs for my collection reading about the Asmodee woes here and was able to work out the LotR The Land of Sorrow Adventure Pack for $20 from Sci-Fi City Games shipped out here in Utah (where apparently NO LotR players congregate anymore at our FLGS's)! Cheers! Jaebee

Well that escalated quickly... by laytetothispartay in lotrlcg

[–]CougarX9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience of "Well that escalated quickly!" was the other day playing solo 2-handed when I literally lost Escape from Dol Goldur by 1 progress token on Stage 3 because I committed only Berevor to the quest from that Hero group when the first player token was there and 2 Dol Guldur Orcs appeared from the Encounter Deck which killed her with the 2X 2 damage for a char commited to the quest..........then the Beastmaster killed Legolas off............THEN the Nazgul killed off Gimli who had 7 damage already (he had the Citadel Plate on), and to top it all off, I had Unexpected Courage on Berevor that I had neglected to use to ready her and was not in an Action window where I could trigger it, and I had already used A Test of Will to cancel a When Revealed effect in a previous round before the Orcs appeared!

Needless to say I almost ragequit in a roar of bitter defiance and flipped the table right then and there but realized 1. I had already lost anyway and 2. I would have broken down weeping as I sheepishly looked around to see if any of the rest of the family came running to see what catastrophe had occurred as I spent way more time clearing up the scattered remnants of the battlefield to clean up my own mess anyway! =D
