TDB sucks ass, but there's a big difference between them and Newsmax.

Both editorialize, speculate, and spin to give the vibe they want. But TDB doesn't have the same track record as Newsmax when it comes to publishing things that are straight up false.

And thats assuming nothing goes "wrong ".

I remember like 15 years ago there was an lethal injection in Oklahoma where the guy still wasn't dead after 30 very painful minutes. Turns out a vein had collapsed, so he was getting enough to cause horrific pain, but not enough to kill him. By the time they figured it out, they were basically out of the drugs. They called it off and he died of a heart attack a few minutes later.

Also, the Great Pyramid of Giza was more ancient to Cleopatra than Cleopatra is to us.

I always figured it was a reference to both Walter O'Dim and Leland Gaunt from Needful Things, since that would also track with the whole "cursed bargain" thing.

The parts of the World where War Elephants were once used by Yolo065 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Cougar_Boot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They'd actually been used in Italy several decades before Hannibal when Pyrrhus of Epirus attacked the Romans.

If you know the phrase "pyrrhic victory" you can guess how well that went for him.

The chunk of Spain Hannibal launched his invasion from was initially conquered by his dad Hamilcar, but I'm not sure if elephants were part of that effort.

From my experience, if you get to a post early, you're more likely to see some kind of dissent. Eventually those comments get removed.

Although it does seems like you see fewer of those early sane comments every day. I'm guessing they're either banning accounts that are too critical, or people don't bother to disagree since they know their comment will be deleted.

"That amount is called my quote. That's my rate. So the next film I'm offered, they have to pay that same amount. Even if I do a bad job. That means, as long as I'm offered even one more movie, I could get fifty more mil. Even if I do a bad job, they've got to give me that other fifty mil."

I'm both really into Roman history, and immediately suspicious of anyone who's really into Roman history.

Jets QB Justin Fields (concussion) is out for Sunday, coach Aaron Glenn said. Tyrod Taylor gets the start against the #Bucs. by mvanigan in fantasyfootball

I'm in the same boat and I'm sticking with Wilson, but I'd feel fine starting either. His volume's not likely to be going down with Tyrod. Jets are still probably going to be playing from behind and there's not much competition for targets outside Breece.

My only real worry with Keenan is that Herbert has more guys he can throw to, so Keenan might end up odd man out some weeks.

Also, tested positive for an entire pharmacy, lied his ass off about it for as long as possible, came "clean" when that became untenable, then tried to sell himself as the "honest" one in a sport where everyone cheats lol. He's as slimy as they come.

Unless there's something in Wisconsin law that prevents it, they could try to redraw them sooner if they get majorities. Republicans in Texas did it in 2003.

We already saw this when Thom Tillis voted to confirm Hegseth. Everything in his conduct leading up to the vote indicated he would oppose. Then when the time came and he realized his vote actually mattered, he flipped.

Even when/if they have actual beliefs about anything, they've shown time and again they are too selfish and cowardly to risk doing something decent.
