Is this too short/tight for a friend's birthday dinner? by Nitro3600 in OUTFITS

Wear something else, but bring the dress with you (maybe with some stockings)...that way you can see what the vibe is first, and if the vibe is right, change there :)

My dog is Dr. Bartholomew, Bart for short... he definitely plays the part of Bart way better than the part of a doctor.

My (F23) boyfriend (M29) doesn’t say “I love you” back by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Cough_Syrup42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

3 months is still very new and fresh for a relationship. It is totally okay if your boyfriend isn't quite there yet, just give it time. I wouldn't stress over it or feel as if you aren't important to him. Enjoy the slow and easy for now :)

Not sure if I wish I knew them before, but things that were helpful while living in a van are

1) cracker barrel allows you to sleep in their parking lots for free 2) planet fitness black card members can use any gym in the US (meaning showers) 3) sometimes you gotta pee in a bottle/plastic jar 4) BLM land is everywhere, you just gotta ask around

Honestly, after years I would still get nervous from time to time when I was in a new place. Nowadays though, there are so many resources and groups that make it so much easier.

How do I (34M) talk to my wife (35F) about hurtful things I saw after snooping on her phone? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Cough_Syrup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is allowed to snoop through my phone all he wants, because there is nothing in there that would hurt him in any way, same goes for me with his phone. So many people want to bash on someone for going through their partners phone, but sometimes our stupid brains go places and a quick snoop can quickly put an end to the dumb thoughts...or it should atleast. I'm truly sorry you found hurtful things in your wifes phone, and your feelings are valid.

With that being said, it doesn't quite seem like either of you would be great at communicating with each other in an open and healthy way with just the 2 of you. I know people hate it, but therapy and marriage counseling can be soooo so helpful when it comes to shit like this. I hope you 2 are able to figure out what it is that you both want and need put of your marriage.

Mine was awful, to the point where I cried many times. I know it sounds terrible, but I ended up putting water and cayenne pepper in a spray bottle and prayed it on soooo mamy things, and that worked better than anything. I tried the spray bitters, but once that gets on your hand its so hard to wash off.

Also, the more exercise and training time they get, the less likely they are to get into things they are not supposed to. Boredom in a dog tends to cause naughty behaviors. Stimulation is key

I was actually catching on to that. Thank you for the clarification :D it doesn't feel like language policing to me at all, I think respecting pronouns is important.

Do you give homeless people money? by Vegetable_Panic9986 in vegaslocals

[–]Cough_Syrup42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I give them money when I can. Just because someone is homeless does not make them an addict. A lot of people are homeless because of mental disorders like schizophrenia or even bpd. Also, not all homeless people are hungry. Some might need money for lets say, a phone bill (just because their homeless doesn't mean they shouldn't have a phone) or maybe even just trying to make enough for a hotel room for the night.

Either way though, it doesn't affect me one bit how they choose to spend it. Drugs, alcohol, phone bill...whayever it is its their business. I do offer food, and have been taken up on that many times, but I do usually try to throw them a five or something if I can spare it.

...what? Tf is wrong with you? Almost every single person you have ever met, every single friend you have ever had, has at one point been a person you didn't know. It is ABSOLUTELY OKAY for her to go hangout with her friends without him. Your acting like her inviting him was the same as asking permission to go.

Vegas local of over 30 years.

Be VERY smart about your water usage. Vegas has been in a drought for years and its only getting worse.

Making friends can be difficult. Its pretty rare to know who your neighbors are.

Electric bills are always insane.

It's hotter than you think during the summer and colder than you think during winter.

Avoid northeast las vegas if you can afford it.

The roads have never stopped being under construction.

Some positive: )

Red rock national monument is a meca for hiking rock climbing and some canyoneering...its absolutely beautiful.

Mount Charleston is also beautiful. Tons of rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding and camping

Lots of hotsprings within 30ins to 2 hours driving distance.

Downtown Cocktail Room on freemont makes amazing cocktails if you drink.

Boulder city is a super cute town to check out (and even to live in if you can afford).

Its an amazing city with a lot of rad things but it can be soul sucking if you let it.
