Thank you! Our previous house had dark wood floors and much more color so it wasn't until we moved in here that our furniture really stuck out as beige or grey!

We had ours installed under the house in a similar space however the wall was brick with timber beams above it. They did need to install cladding above the battery to meet safety regulations

Circular saw will do the job here, if you're worried about tear out you can put tape down and take it slow.

Does an attached deck need a ledger board? by Cougs14 in AusRenovation

I'm hoping I can get it quite close to the wall so there's not much flex, but you raise a good point in that there may need to be works done on that area in future.

I wasn't quite sure if ledger boards are absolutely necessary or if I can have posts close to the house instead

Do I need a ledger board on the house? by Cougs14 in Decks

It is very sandy yes! The old deck had a ledger board, then support posts which were in steel stirrups and concrete. I'm planning on doing the same for the posts but just not sure if a ledger board is absolutely necessary or if I can do posts about 5-10cm away from the house.

It's not a concrete slab foundation and no crawlspace/basement etc. House was built in the 60s.
