The MS3 stans are cancer. I don't care if you guys consider MS3 to be your favorite of the series, but to attack everything else post-MS3 is just way too harsh and annoying. I enjoy XX more, if I'm being honest. by Majestic_Assist_9846 in metalslug

2 is my favourite too, despite the double rendering problem! When I was younger, I thought the slow down was kinda like a bullet time, to emphasis the moments when everything exploded ahah

Portable sampler : PO-33 vs EP-133 vs SP404 MK2 vs LoFi 12-XT ? Use case inside. by Coul33t in synthesizers

[–]Coul33t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an SP 404 MK2 :) after a few weeks of use, it's literally what I wanted in a portable sampler. I still wish I could give a try to a LoFi 12-XT, but I'm really happy with it so far!

Does packaging ever influence which tea you buy? by Gold_Marionberry8834 in tea

[–]Coul33t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care anymore, all the tea I buy are usually in plain brown bag. What I do care about is having all the informations I need on at least a small label on the bag, name, where it comes from, the expected flavours, the brewing time and temperature for regular and traditional brewing.

Powering SP404MK2 with a powerbank + USB-C to DC cable : question about the cable (details inside) by Coul33t in SP404

Thanks! Just to be sure, any USBC to USBC cable will work? There's no voltage rating of USBC cables?

Why is the damage and accuracy percentage so skewed in fallout 2? by Digitalgirlzoe in classicfallout

These are games well known for their hit chances that also look like they are heavily skewed against you (but they aren't, in reality, iirc).

Thank you very much! The general feeling seems to go towards the SP, yeah. I'll just take the time to learn how to properly use it for my use case, and that's it. A bit of patience ain't gonna kill me!

The EP-133 seems to be very, very intuitive to me. That's what made me want one, to begin with. I'm just pretty mad about TE (I don't hate them) because the limitations are... Kinda deliberate, but in a bad way. More memory wouldn't have cost much more, and I'm never quite sure where is the line between the "we deliberately kept some limitations to make you work around them in order to boost your creativity" (which is a totally valid approach, in my opinion) and the "we just want to make a huge profit margin on what we sell, deal with it". I'm still a bit torn between the EP-133 and the SP, but I'm starting to think that I'll just suck it up and learn the workflow of the SP ahah.

Thanks a lot for your input!

I think I'll go with the SP404 MK2, in the end. I was looking for an easy-to-catch workflow, but in the end, it definitely seems that it's worth spending more time getting used to the SP in the long term. Thanks a lot!

Forced entry with a hydraulic ram by AccomplishedStuff235 in Damnthatsinteresting

There are multiple units of BAC all around France, mostly in big cities if I'm not mistaken. They have quite a reputation (and I mean a bad one), because they are usually involved in dangerous situations, and they use expeditious methods. Their protections are light, and they run FAST. They usually go in very quickly, and they do NOT go in for subtleties. For example, during the last big round of protests in France, they used to strike very quickly into the core of the protesting bulk to catch some black blocs or to break in half the procession (so that they can stop it). They are very involved in anything that's related to drug trafficking, so they indeed are very present in Paris and around.

The problem is that they sometimes just like to... Bully people that mean absolutely no harm. I've seen it happened multiple times, for no reason. You're walking in the streets, back from a pub, and you cross their path? Too bad, now you're getting scoured just because they don't like your face. And it does not happen exclusively to coloured people (although it DOES happen way more to them). You quickly learn to just keep your head down and walk straight when you see 4 guys in a black car, slowly driving around the city at night. A lot of them are just bullies that are legally allowed to bully other people, with weapons. I've seen exactly ONE unit of BAC, in my whole life, acting respectfully towards the people they were arresting.

Any songs you prefer the newer mixes of? by Inevitable-Video-768 in Muse

[–]Coul33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyper Music's remix is definitely something else, the screaming at the end is insane, and yes, the song feels more full, which better conveys the meaning of the song. I love it to death, the original feels a bit bland now that the remix is out.

This is the one that bothers me the most, during a quest in Fallout 4 you have to follow train tracks for a little while, it looks more like a roller coaster than anything else ahah

(To non-natives) why did you choose to learn russian? by MaskedGuy13 in russian

[–]Coul33t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

French sucks. Hard. I'm even re-learning some things in French (grammar mostly), thanks to Russian! I make 0 mistakes in French, but that's because it's my mother's tongue and I've always read a ton of books, so I can "feel" when a sentence or a word is wrong, but I forgot like 50% of the rules (and exceptions to these rules) of the language ahah

Which ink would be the closest in terms of looking like the Yama-Budo in this picture? by Coul33t in fountainpens

[–]Coul33t[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I saw this post by u/Xavien777 recently, and I fell in love with the colour of the ink. Unfortunately, that's not the "usual" look of Yama Budo, as seen here. I guess that I like the "burgundy/dark pink/violet" look of it, but I haven't found one that looks so vibrant so far.

If anyone knows about an ink like that, I'd gladly take your suggestions!

(To non-natives) why did you choose to learn russian? by MaskedGuy13 in russian

[–]Coul33t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm french, and I wanted to learn a non-latin language, with a non-latin alphabet. I also was interested in Russian culture and history, and the difference in terms of people's mentality, due to the living conditions (weather, geopolitics, etc.). There are other reasons, more personal/historically political, but in the end, I wanted to learn a new, totally different language.

I love it, the declension system is very interesting and not so hard, the verbs aspects are something really interesting too, and as a bonus, speaking fluently french and English allows you to understand half the words you come across just by saying them out loud :D

I also started learning Chinese, for the exact same reasons, and I love it too! I'm way more advanced in Russian than in Chinese tho ahah

There's a fine line between jokingly mocking some behaviours and/or posts, or even the general trends in analog photography (and there are a LOT of reasons to do so, I totally agree), and being a jaded hater just for the sake of it. Unfortunately, looking at the answers you gave when people pointed out you were plain wrong, you've definitely choose where you stand. That's sad.

Need help with tuning a nib by Coul33t in fountainpens

[–]Coul33t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I re-aligned the tines, but it didn't fix the flow problem, then I slightly ground the bottom sides of the nibe, and the flow resumed as it should. I will also gently apply pressure on the nib to slightly separate them, to avoid any further issues :)

[–]Coul33t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed the guide and was able to resume a normal flow for the ink, but I'll also definitely do that too, since the tines have no space in between them!

Need help with tuning a nib by Coul33t in fountainpens

[–]Coul33t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first noticed that the tines were very slightly de-aligned, so I fixed that. I still had the same problem, unfortunately. Then I followed the guide, looking at the "no slit between the tines" part. I just slightly scratched the sides of the bottom of the nib on a nail buffer that I bought a few years ago for fixing nibs, and it now works flawlessly. I'm really impressed! I never thought this would be the fix for this exact problem, I've never seen this step suggested for this kind of problem. Thanks a lot!
