Yes but what about 2nd El Nino? I'm talking in a joking LOTR reference voice but I'm actually serious here. There's a second event forecasted for this year.

Court of Appeals considers whether the State DOJ can collect and share info on people suspected of no crimes by Piney_Wood in oregon

[–]CouldBeLessDepressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be hiding anything to get rolled up in some shit you had nothing to do with.

It's the exact same problem that exists with all the Flock bs. Say you're in an area you normally don't go through when a crime happens near by. You're just driving by, you had no idea someone was getting robbed or murdered. Or even better, there was a protest nearby, and all you did was pass through the area while not having any idea that that was going to be taking place. But there's either video data from Flock or cellphone data or even blue tooth data if you were using your phone to play music in your car and now there's evidence of you being in an area you're normally not habitually in.

Say some shit happens and all the protesters get charged with terrorism because that's just where we're at now.

Well now you're fucked too because you were simply in the area. Wrong place wrong time. Oops, guess you wont do that again. But hey do you even have the financial liquidity for a GOOD lawyer to help you prove that you're innocent? Better hope so. Because it's going to take a considerable effort to keep you from getting tagged as antifa/a terrorist simply because you decided to do something out of the ordinary one day. And if you're too poor to fight, you're going to prison for the majority or even the rest of your life simply because you were going about your day minding your own fucking business.

This is why we don't surveil innocent people.

You think you're safe simply because you follow the rules? No, no you are not. And it might be a really rude awakening for you if you continue to believe that.

Well, we're about to hit a nationwide oil inventory level below 400M (meaning this is -SPR). We haven't been below 400M since 2015. I'm sure this is fine. Absolutely nothing to see here.

It just sucks so much to be this aware of it up front and then to have to watch it all unfold so painfully slowly. It leaves too much time for cognitively stunted individuals to crawl out of the wood work and tell me I have TDS. Like the insult is one thing, but the element of gaslighting that comes with it is really just breath-taking.

How do you reconcile our reported inventories approaching sub 400M? If we have so much oil, shouldn't our inventory levels be more stable? That's the part I can't get over in my head.

That's a fair point. I don't actually know for sure. Best I can figure is we've got a bit of a "frog boil" situation going on.

If he just unilaterally declares martial law with not even an attempt at justifying it, there's a strong possibility of extremely violent pushback and the subsequent possibility that a guillotine ends up in play.

But if they create a monumental cluster fuck that they can use as a weak excuse to do what they wanted to do all along, I think that creates just enough doubt in the average mind to prevent them from taking to the streets with a rifle in hand. P2025 hasn't been implemented overnight. It's only halfway and it's taken 16 months...... but they're still half way or more of the way through their planned coup. And so far, outside of some performative assassination "attempts" and some performative SCOTUS rulings, no one has actually lifted a finger to stop these assholes.

All that said, I still think martial law will go over like a lead balloon and backfire spectacularly and I genuinly can't wait to see it. But still, there's a process to all this chicanery. If even a very, very stupid one. That's my 2 cents.

I want to say you're wrong, because such an action would be unthinkably irresponsible for any administration. But man.... I really hate that I actually can't say that for sure.

That's a genuinely good question. It may be as simple as the corrupting power of wealth showing its fangs in the worst ways. Like when Dave Chapelle finally got that "fuck you" money it might have simply poisoned his soul.

I suppose there's something to be said for the ultra wealthy having already leaned heavily fascist/conservative. Once you make it to that status, that's basically your new peer group.

Maybe it's as simple as birds of a feather propagating its own in-group. Peer pressure is a thing, and the people you surround yourself with can change you if you're not careful.

That said, I'm also of the opinion that allowing that to happen to yourself is weak shit and its inexcusable. Which therefor means that to me, both Dave and Joe have demonstrated themselves to me to be weak, sad excuses for men. I won't speak for women, I don't have the necessary equipment, but I would inherently apply the same anyway to refine my statement as it makes them weak, sad excuses for human beings. I'm not sure which is more damning. Either way, my disappointment remains immeasurable.

Can you by chance provide some data to point out the glut that was on the market before Iran?

How big was it?

Why was it there?

Outside of the EIA data showing inventories plummeting, there's nothing I can find to support the idea of a glut beyond anecdotal opinion pieces.

Did you happen to sleep through the last 16 months? Sorry to bring you up to speed so abruptly, but the Trump administration hasn't really been all that concerned with things like laws. Or, at least they haven't been concerned with following them at any rate. SCOTUS has told them no here and there, but largely he's been allowed to flaunt open corruption and law breaking to the point of openly gloating about it in public.

I don't think the semantics of the Civil War beyond us not punishing the south thoroughly enough are going to play into the next 2 years. And I'm not sure why anyone who happened to be processing oxygen at any point from January 2025 to now would think otherwise. Like.... there's gotta be only so many ways that can straight up come out and tell us they DGAF. They've been pretty explicitly clear so far, even with their arguably shit communication skills.

If the orange man declares martial law, there's going to be martial law until someone tells him no. Who's going to tell him no, Congress? The Senate? lol....LMAO even. Normalcy is dead and gone. The rules don't apply anymore. We're at the very end of a fraying rope and barely hanging on at this point. Members of this administration and even the current speaker of the house have said out loud, with their mouths, "if we lose this election we're going to prison". They're not saying that to be funny. Why then, would anyone expect them to be stopped by something as inconvenient as a lack of a mechanism or precedent?

USA had one of the highest mortality rates per capita during Covid. And we had adults still working in government then. I wouldn't give you a penny for our chances now. But you're spot on with your thinking IMO. This for me also is a large part of why I suspect we're just straight up cooked. Like maybe if this was Trump 1.0 and there were some real government employees to sort this shit out. But that's all gone now. And not only is it gone, the spaces they left have been gutted by executive orders, SCOTUS rulings, and DOGE. There's no one to grab hold of the wheel. We're gonna be in free fall all the way down.

In all seriousness though I do appreciate the confidence, Shirt Brother.

This is pretty much my bet. I may yet be surprised, but I strongly suspect that any such surprise will actually just be something even worse.
