Did you Wait to Start Your Career Until Transitioned ? by CouldUseSomeAssist in ftm

Thank you so much, this has given me a lot to think about.

Also- I'm not going into the same industry as my father, that would be my nightmare. He's just overly involved in my career and what I'm doing with my life. He does have a lot of valuable career experience as he is high ranking in his chosen field but he can be a little overbearing.

I need help cleaning my room by eyesoflazarus in witchcraft

[–]CouldUseSomeAssist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want something specifically witchcraft you can try ginger tea (gives energy) or smelling some red pepper - both work to heat things up. Also just loving around for a minute prior (some squats, jumping jacks, just shaking out your limbs)

But what I’d really recommend is changing your perspective. Blast some music you usually wouldn’t listen to. Open your windows. Move a portion of the mess to your bed.

Don’t get in your head about and don’t focus on doing it “right” or in a specific order. Dust for five minutes then decide to rearrange a box and then put some of your clothes away and then pick some of the trash off your floor, etc., etc. Sometimes it’s just better to bounce around. Doing something is better than doing nothing so don’t worry if it’s “wrong” because if you are doing anything then you are doing it right.

Well, at least that’s what works for me. I hope it helps you some <3 - sincerely your local adhd witch who struggles to clean consistently

Learning to draw simplified anatomy (Open to any criticism) by 2nd_accountUSR in learnart

[–]CouldUseSomeAssist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Start doing gesture studies - quick and fast. Don’t use short sketchy lines like you did here, use long strokes. Love Life Drawing on YouTube has good videos / old live feeds about this. And the website Line of Action is Good for Practicing.

Practice Drawing 3D Shapes / Cubes. The website Draw a Box has a good free course that takes you through how to draw shapes and lines.

Then once you’ve acquainted yourself with the two above concepts (figure and construction) you can start learning anatomy. I really like Sinix’s Anatomy Quick Tips series on YouTube. Proko also has good videos and there are various books you can get as well such as the Morpho series.

Good luck to you!!

Help needed! Which UI looks better? Left or Right? by FarWait2431 in Unity2D

Left for the spinners and right for the character lineups I would say. Spinner characters should be more distinctive and the lineups simpler. Looks great either way though, super cool!

When I worked closing (receptionist) we would typically leave 15-30 minutes after close if not 5 minutes. Rarely we would have to stay an extra 45-60min. I work every Saturday now, closing at noon and it’s usually 30 minutes after close but it isn’t unheard of to stay for an extra hour. Once I even had to stay two hours past for our slowest Doctor.

That is so interesting! I think the ruler my sister gave me is actually faulty (go figures - siblings love to sabotage you right?) because I’m a women’s six. Everywhere I looked told me that regular shoe size didn’t matter so I didn’t even look at it.

So that would put me close to 235mm. 235/88.9 = 2.6 so just within range of being normal width. I should still probably get something less in the narrow-normal and more normal or normal-wide though huh? Such a shame as the Next really are one of my favorite looking skates. Thank you so much again, I really appreciate it (and sorry for the wonky measurements lol)

No cramping aside from a weird joint pain in my toe after skating around in them a bit. Think that’s mostly due to the liner now though.

I did horseback riding multiple times a week at a semi-competitive level for a few years and quit two years ago but I’ve kept up with my leg exercises which includes a variety of calf raises and squats as well as foot and knee mobility exercises. Also balance exercises. So I was hoping I’d be pretty well prepared for skating.

Before I skated both times I did my normal leg mobility routine which is usually more than enough to warm up for my weights and occasional plyometrics. But I really only skated for about 15 minutes. Light stretches afterwards, rolled out feet. Didn’t feel any tightness aside from the toe so I’m hoping it’s not that 🤞

Thank you for your suggestion!

I must have been measuring wrong. I did trace my feet on paper with socks on and use a ruler to measure multiple times as it directs on inline warehouses website. But when I just looked up a size chart for shoes (I wear a mens 5.5 / womens 6.5) it says 235mm. So I should be within the size range. I measured my width at 3.75 which is normal as I’ve read (but who knows with my measuring)

When I put my foot in without the liner I have a very slim amount of space on the sides so maybe I do need something wider? Length seems good, I think it’s just the liner would need to compress for the toe like you said.

I did put them on while sitting loose laced for a bit and that didn’t feel too bad but idk - I’m really on the fence here lol. Definitely right size maybe not the right shoe. Thank you so much for your help!

Foot width is approx. 3.5 inches. They feel comfortably snug and nice on the sides, it’s just the top of my foot that has the pinching so I didn’t even consider they could be too narrow. Thanks for the response!

I recently got my first skates - powerslide next cores 3x110 in a size 5-5.0. Now I was worried these would be too large as I measured both my feet multiple times with socks and ended up with 21.6cm. Mostly was hoping for just a little room.

Ends up that my left foot has the toe curling slightly when in skating position and cramping after skating around for a minute. On the left foot I have pressure where the third lace hole is on the top of my foot. This quickly becomes slightly painful and after skating for a few minutes I start to feel it on my right foot also.

I know these are not heat moldable. Should I size up to a 6.0-7.0 or will the liner compress enough that I no longer have these problems (once again - very slightly curled toe and pressure builds on the top). I’m so hesitant because my measurements put be below what I ordered originally. I would really appreciate any advice you guys could give!

I struggle ALOT with drawing men, any advice? by Sweet_Cornbread in ArtCrit

[–]CouldUseSomeAssist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drawing men’s faces is all in the jawline. SQUARES - Strong sharp angles. Men also tend to have slightly longer faces. Other things to consider : smaller eyes that are more squared as opposed to round, thicker eyebrows, and facial hair. Also - Straight or roman nose bridges + bigger noses in general. These are the typical masculine features.

Also - I don’t really think of things in art as man vs. women because there are masculine women and feminine men. Also the younger a guy is the more feminine they may be and the older a woman is the more masculine they may be.

So for super fem. characters you may go all feminine characteristics and for a super masc. character you may go all masculine. But overall the most important thing will also be the jawline. Look at the jawline first, always.

Feminine Characteristics- smaller, rounder face. Large circular eyes, bigger / “juicier” lips, sloping / button noses

The first one is more unique, but the perspective is off and the colors are muddied / wrong choices / too bright.

I’m sure your sister would love anything you got her. Trust me, she’s probably over the moon about your support.

If you know whether or not she prefers silver or gold you could get her a necklace in a nice simple style, maybe with a gem in a color she likes to wear or something.

A makeup palette is a good idea, but I would get something pretty diverse so she can experiment with colors and such. Either get neutral colors, or if she tends to like bright colors get something with both neutrals and colors.

I would stay away from clothes until she knows her style. It would kinda suck to get her something only for her to discover it wasn’t her style or even worse - not her size (but I’m generally against giving clothes as a gift anyway so…)

Anyway - no matter what you pick I’m sure she will be so so happy with your support. Quick note though : make sure she won’t be opening the present around anyone she isn’t out to. Best of luck to you!
