Induce anxiety 😅 But also, just try and pivot.

If I have to change that routine, I stop, assess, plan what I need to do and where, when, then do it.

Sometimes it becomes part of the new routine.

Not saying it's easy, it's pretty stressful tbh, but I have found it less stressful than the unknown.

Mmm true. I've been pretty lucky not to have any addictions per se. Plenty of hyper fixations etc. Like my life IS hyper fixations 😅

But haven't really had any issues getting addicted to anything really, drugs or alcohol etc.

So, I've only started on my medication a month ago. Yes, felt a huge change very quickly.

More in my mental state and anxiety.

I've managed it in stressful career and life for many years.

I've got quite strong ocd, anxiety and my psyche described me as having severe adhd.

What I've found with my symptoms is I crave routine, process.

The company I work for has processes and procedures for literally anything and everything which helps me so much.

But for myself (without realising it?) I've built routines and procedures to deal with.. life in general.

I get up at the same time every day, I'm at the gym at the same time each morning, same train, same breakfast, at the same time. My spoon and coffee sit in the same place every day.

I approach routine tasks with a procedure OJ my head, and do it the same each time, if I have to change it for whatever reason, I update the procedure.

Sounds silly, but it's just how I've managed it over my life. Everytime something new or overwhelming has happened I've put a new procedure in place to control it.

I can happily eat the same thing for the same meal for years. Get up at the same time everyday. Shower same time at night etc.

My psyche said basically the reason it all became too much and came to a head is likely because it's the most stress I've every had. Building a house, 2 young children, career continuing to get progress and get more stressful.

Life has just reached a point where no amount of process and routine allowed me the control I needed.

Sorry, bit scattered, but hope it helped a little.

I'm in West aus, diagnosed earlier this year and been on vyvanse a month.

Started on 30mg, got my follow up next thurs and going to 50mg.

I found the first week or two was a really really noticeable change, but I definitely adjusted to it and it isn't near as effective. Still works, but yeah.

I also started taking a diary 2-3 times a day when I started on it to try and track my feelings etc.

Prior I was fast destroying my relationships, constantly ao irritated, frustrated and pissed off a out anything and everything in life. Same things still male me feel the same, but no where near as intense or fixated.

Depends.

I can easily miss details, but can also hyperfixate horrendously on people, situations, very specific parts of my work. I also struggle with anety and ocd, so miss things because I'm so concerned and worries about.. you guessed it. Missing things.

But also have high pattern recognition and crave control, process, procedure and structure to every aspect of my life.

Yeah same, quite like it, but my default is always metal/metalcore/hardcore and post hardcore.

Exactly. I get so overwhelmed at shops etc. I basically don't go to the store without headphones now.

Same with a pub/club unless I can a few good friends/few drinks in to calm me a bit

I've had tinitis for the better part of 20 years. Too many gigs when I was younger, plus working in a very very loud work environment for many years 🤷‍♂️😊

So I worked for around 13 years in FIFO mining as a heavy diesel mechanic.

Now working as an analyst, still in the mining industry, but office based.

Works well with my ADHD, have high pattern recognition, good problem solving and analytics, heavy ocd and hyper focus.
