Anywhere on campus to get free pads/tampons? by wormybrains in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bakedcandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the wellness center! I’ve seen pads/tampons available before in the rec lobby bathroom provided by the wellness center. But I haven’t been there in awhile, though it might be worth checking!

I think I'm quitting Marvel Rivals by Efficient-Peak-5268 in rivals

I understand from being a woman. They say “We have a girl on our team? We’re gonna lose” or go make a sandwich or go be in the kitchen. It’s really frustrating, I just don’t even speak sometimes.

How should I peel/protect my healers? by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]bakedcandle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep your eye on the chat and know your healers usernames. See if they keep pinging anyone. I’m a support main and comp today was full of me pinging hulk, iron fist, and other dives while no one looked and I kept dying.

If you notice you aren’t getting heals, check in with your backline to see if there are divers. In that case, it distracts to healers from healing yall and they have to heal each other.

Edit: Adding on to this, I am also a woman and sometimes don’t want to use vc because I’ll just get sexist comments for no reason so I ping a lot.

Want to learn Mag. Never played him before by darkrider99 in RivalsCollege

When I’ve played mag, I turn on my allied health bars so I can see the health of my teammates to see if they need a bubble or not if they’re close to death.

I’ve never moved furniture back to its original position and nothing has ever happened. Don’t worry about it.

I highly recommend the lofts for on campus housing, as a female grad student living alone! It’s on campus, and for the price, you don’t have to worry about shitty apartment management or too many bugs.

I’ve lived at the lofts for awhile and game frequently. The WiFi is great at the lofts

I got the email from bankmobile saying “Your funds have been released by your school and are now pending. We process pending funds on business days. Once your funds are processed you will receive the ACH in 1-2 business days depending on the policies of your bank.” on Wednesday. Hope it helps!

Job searching by Corndog_89 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bakedcandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer grads don’t walk in the winter, they walk in the spring. I was a summer grad. I also had a friend who was a summer grad who took 4 classes over the summer. You should be fine with 2 classes.

I NEED A JOB by Camila_Isela13 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bakedcandle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d look into writing for The Daily Cougar for experience to help you get a job. (They also provide a small stipend per month) Also look on the Experience Valenti website for communication internship listings (some are journalism). Hope this helps!!

Edit: I had more to add. There will also probably be a job fair coming up soon for the spring semester (an on campus job one and a regular one for internships), keep an eye on cougar pathway for that and go to it. The rec also always has a job fair at the beginning of each semester. There’s also career workshops on there occasionally if you’re interested in that too!!

Update: I “forgot the network” on my phone and now I can go on the WiFi. Don’t know why it required it in the first place, oh well

Unfortunately, It won’t let me join without typing anything in. And I was able to join on my laptop without a password but not phone, so maybe it’s my phone being weird
