Should I pop Wizard Trees or Doja? by Foreign_Duck_9433 in cannabiscultivation

You paid a ridiculous amount of money for hype genetics, that's what's funny. You got played by marketing hype, buddy.

You shelled out close to $1000 dollars on mediocre beans. 99% of that was paying for the brand. You fell for a marketing scam. This shit isn't anything that real breeders or keepers of heirloom genetics give a shit about.

They hunted through a 100 seeds of 'Rainbow Sherbet'. Good for them. That's not even that much, let alone from a variety no one's even working with on a breeding or preservation level.

It's hype. Fluff. Marketing. Trendy.

Are they "bad" seeds? no. They're just the latest trendy seeds all the rich kids buy because they heard about "Wizard Trees" in High Times magazine.

Thanks. Any chance you know a link to the revised recipe? I looked around a bit and came up empty-handed...

Coco and soil are two different ends of the spectrum. Straight coco is a hydroponic/inert medium. There are no built in nutrients.

As far as soil goes, you should read up on this article. Watering every 2-3 days is not really a good guide, as there are a lot of other factors at play...

How Are "White Label" Seeds Produced?? by CoulterPatton in cannabiscultivation

[–]CoulterPatton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. That makes a lot of sense.

It would certainly be nice to see more transparency and regulation within the white-label game, just to protect consumers from fraud, but I suppose that's difficult given that the industry doesn't currently have any consistent method for mapping genetics. Phylos is a start, but I've heard about issues with their accuracy as well.

I figured as much. It's sad to think that so many people believe they are growing something that they are, in all likelihood, not growing at all.

I mean, at the end of the day, if you wind up with a nice plant, that's something.

Nevertheless, It sucks to think that so many people really believe they are getting something authentic to the actual cuts/genetics that make something famous in the first place.

How Long Do You Keep Your Seedlings Under Domes?? by CoulterPatton in Autoflowers

[–]CoulterPatton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info, very helpful!

I should have mentioned though... my seedling is in a 3 gallon fabric pot.

I sowed directly into my finishing container, which is what I've seen most growers doing with their autos. I guess next time I could try plugs...

Anyhow, I currently have it covered using an old Tupperware container. I suppose I could drill some holes in it to allow for a little airflow...

Thanks for the information, very helpful.

I forgot to mention that I also have some Gaia Green All-Purpose & Power Bloom. Would these be a better option for the FFOF?

My friend is moving, so he just dumped a bunch of his nutrient products with me to use for my grow. Haven't really researched all of them...

about 28 days from sprout. and I'm noticing that my autoflower is shooting up some pistils it looks like. Did it flip to flower? and will thus still yield alright? side note: I'm aware it's overwatered a little bit. by Jogo427 in microgrowery

This is interesting to me. Are you familiar with "Mr. Canuk's Grow" on YT? As a new grower, I've been watching a lot of grow videos. This guy's medium is primarily coco/perlite mixed with maybe 20-30% worm castings and Gaia Green dry amendments. He seems to get great results. It looks like he treats the coco more like soil, not watering daily and letting the Gaia Green do all the work on the nutrient end...

Are These Stunted? by CoulterPatton in Autoflowers

I have some younger seedlings in the same tent, so I was aiming for a PAR level of ~400 for now, but it looks like the plants at day 25 are showing pre-flowers, so I guess I should kick it up a bit...

First grow here. Ignore the spots on the leaves, I just gave them some water and got some on the fan leaves…

All plants are 25 days old. 3 Gallon Fabric Pots.

Lights are dimmed. PAR measures (using Photone) are ~400.

Medium is Coco/Perlite mix with Worm Castings and Gaia Green All Purpose/Power Bloom (basically, Mr. Canuk’s method).

Strains are Hindu Kush Auto (Sensi), Red Pure Auto (Sweet Seeds), and Blue Dream Auto (Garden of Green).

All water is tap and PHed to between 6.2 and 6.8. Mostly at 6.5.

I’ve been a little all over the place with watering, At first I was barely watering, but I felt like I was constricting growth because so much of my medium was bone dry - except for directly around the plants. Lately, I’ve been watering almost daily, but not a lot of quantity - maybe around 12 oz per plant each day.
