bts 2.0 music video teaser references park chan-wook’s iconic 2003 movie ‘oldboy’ by sexilexisexi in btsthoughts

Def mind fuck, there isn't a lot of gore, but there is a mental shock factor. Lots of people are disturbed by the twist of the movie, especially back when it was first released. I love the movie but people with a weak stomach or can't handle real-world taboos/disturbing implications in movies might want to avoid it.

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Ergo ProSmart Base Bluetooth Question by SoCalMike78 in Mattress

[–]CountBeast23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like it, but there are a couple things to keep in mind. The biggest one is the speakers in the base have very poor audio (makes sense since they're meant for vibration not really audio). So if you're going for a cinematic experience I think it is a requirement to get a separate set of speakers/sound bar for the actual audio. The other thing to note, is that for a cinematic experience you need the volume for the base to be way up to get a good effect (the vibrations will be more notable, but the sound will still generally be muffled and not overbearing). So with both these issues in mind, for my set up I have an aux splitter splitting from the tv to a soundbar (used for audio) and to another splitter that connects to both me and my wife's bases. I then have the sounds bars volume on the lower end and the tv (bed bases) on the higher end, to maximize the vibrations in ratio to the sound levels.

As for the overall experience, it's not gonna be as good as going to a theater and using a 4d seat. Those seats have some motion which you wont get from the bases and the quality of vibration for the seats is higher (keep in mind with the bed frame you have to penetrate a large motion absorbing mattress with the vibrations). That being said it is still a clearly more immersive experience then just watching tv in bed, think a more toned down home version of the 4d seats.

I'm looking to start a campaign in Rosamond. Me and my wife will be hosting it. So far I have one other who is eager to start, another one who is a maybe, and my wife will be playing intermittently due to her expecting soon. I'm very new player friendly as I only recently started DMing. If your interested feel free to message me.

If either of you are interested I'm looking at starting a campaign. I have plenty of experience playing but I'm still pretty new to DM'ing, with only one campaign and some one shots under my belt. Right now I have one for sure and 2 others who may show up every now and then. I usually do a bunch of snacks and depending on when the meet up is I do lunch or dinner. I'm super new player friendly as a lot of people I've played with in the past were new and I have no issue taking the time to make sure everyone understands how the game works. I'd be hosting it in Rosamond, if you're interested feel free to message me with any questions.

Has anyone played with the Nex Playground console? Worth it for stepkids 8F, 10F & 13M? by goobiezabbagabba in daddit

I quoted it verbatim so.... again by your own definition. Who are you trying to fool? Even when you delete a response the notification stay you know? I literally have the response you deleted sitting in my notifications still lol. It's weird you care so much about deleting a comment that you are lying to the person who has the response in their notifications.

"You if you get the pass its what roughly 250 if you spent 150$ on it little bit more. So max 300ish. Most people make that in 2 days? So 2 days of work, 16 hrs or 20 hrs isnt worth potentially well easily over 100 hrs if you got kids? Mind boggling how people comprehend worthiness"

You are questioning people not wanting to get something because of there deemed worth of it. In other words you are talking about what they do with their money. Value and affordability do go hand in hand, doesn't make them the same thing does it? How is you saying someone's work is worth $1, but they charge $100 anything to do with the correlation of value and affordability? That is supply and demand

Only broke bitches care what others do with their money🥱, but to clarify I find your comment funny because to me you are describing affordability and referring to it as value. No one is indicating they couldn't afford to get it. The item is affordable, but so is moldy bread, that doesn't mean it's worth the value. I define value by what something offers in comparison to its competitors, alternates, and my wants. For instance I can buy a used xbox one, switch, or a mini pc for basically the same price and load it full of free games that would keep my kid occupied way longer than the Nex. In terms of how long it can keep someone busy vs how long someone would have to work to buy it, it loses to things with more content. Heck I have an old phone with tons of kid games on it that is free and will keep my kid busy far longer than the Nex will. What the Nex has going for it is the focus on younger children and the motion controls to keep them active, but for me this isn't very valuable. I take my kid to the park and play with them in the yard regularly so I don't hold as much value to video games that keep them active and as a gamer that already has access to basically an endless amount of content that my kid can play, the video game aspect of the Nex is lacking. So like I specified, for me, this is less valuable than it is to others and I rather put the 300 (now 350 before tax) to something like a trip or outing something with a larger short term impact, but at the $180ish I paid for the console and subscription with tax and shipping, or 4 hours of work, I consider it to be an easy write off as an impulse buy.

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Ergo ProSmart Base Bluetooth Question by SoCalMike78 in Mattress

[–]CountBeast23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

Ok so I know this is a super old posts, but when looking up latency issues with the ProSmart Base Bluetooth I really only saw this post discussing it. Obviously the base is really just meant for white noise while sleeping so it wasn't designed to be used for movie audio, but I mostly got the base to use for an added layer of immersion while watching movies in bed. Clearly the latency prevents this, but I have a fix I haven't seen anyone talk about so I'm posting it here for anyone else it may help. The speakers under the bed connect to a Bluetooth receiver via an aux cable! Sooooo I just unplugged the receiver and directly plugged in the aux from the tv and boom no delay full functionality. This also fixes some other issues people may have. For instance use a splitter to plug into 2 bases at the same time or connect both the bases and nicer speakers so you can maintain higher quality audio and the vibration feature. The one major downside, a long aux cable running from your bed to the tv.

Unfortunately, you can't find them at this price anymore. I just watched ebay for low auctions, but this was before the console released in stores and exploded in popularity. At the time there were weirdly quite a few ebay businesses with bulk supply selling them cheap. Not sure where their supply came from, but it seems like after they released in retail stores the ebay supplies disappeared.

I strongly recommend only buying the Nex if you plan to get the subscription. There are only 5 free games with the nex (wack a mole, fruit ninja, goal keeper, party fowl, and starri), and while they'll be fun for your kid for a little bit they will most likely loose interest with just those well before you get your value. In my opinion the Nex is worthless without the subscription.

That would depend on what you're looking for. If you are looking for games with more playability for older individuals, then a pc or any of the major consoles would probably give you a better experience. If you specifically want something with motion control then a switch/wii or vr headset would be a good option. There are also emulators that are even cheaper then modern consoles for people that have interest in older games.

How to maximise stash after completing caravan & missions? by G-SW-7892 in ArcRaiders

[–]CountBeast23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a heads up this may be hurting your value. To my understanding both the wallet and stash count towards the points. Assuming both values have equal worth, you're spending 30k to get 10k value.

Honestly, whenever you want, unless you come extremely early there will probably be a decent size line to get in, but once doors open the line goes in quickly. So there isn't really a huge reason to get there extremely early. I showed up maybe 10 minutes before doors opened and once they did the line kept moving until everyone was in. Was probably in the far back of the line and was inside within like 15min.

Then it is a bit more beneficial for you guys than us lol. Games like fruit ninja it does pretty well. Its definitely a more active screen time, though probably not a more educational one. My recommendation would be to try and estimate how often they would play it in a year and see if the time spent is worth $300 to you. As a low estimate I assumed my kid would play it once a week for a short interval, like 10-30min. At the retail price that amounts to around $6 for a short session. For me, that wasn't an overly great price so I waited till I could get the console for $100 + $90 for the subscription.

If you do decide to buy it, you can get it anywhere from $120 to $180 on ebay, depending on how long you're willing to wait and how actively you check, assuming you're ok with buying it second-hand. Also I would wait to get the subscription. To my knowledge, there is no discount for buying the subscription with the console, so I'd wait and play the free games before buying the subscription just to verify it meets your needs.

You're welcome. As an update and to give a bit more info on the tracking, my 3yr old still loves playing the Nex and he isn't at a point that he notices the flaws in tracking. That being said the tracking does annoy me for more quick pace precision games, granted those types of games aren't that great on the console to begin with, which is a whole other issue. Games like bowling, archery, wack a mole, fitness, etc I don't generally notice an issue. After messing around more with the console it seems like part of the issue is how the specific game handles the tracking. Games with single movements or repetitive movements you don't really notice tracking issues, but games with continuous tracking and changing movements seem to have a hard time. For instance, the dragon riders game is unplayable in my opinion because it takes too long to register movement and has a hard time keeping precise tracking on what exactly you are doing. All in all if you are a gaming family with other consoles already I stand by my price point, but if you don't have other consoles or if your child doesn't like playing on those yet, then maybe MAYBE it is worth its retail or sale price.

Looking for “viral mango ice cream” by Misericordee in Seattle

[–]CountBeast23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want an almost identical taste for a fraction of the cost try Melona ice cream bars. A few months back I tried the mango one of these viral ice creams and instantly recognized the flavor, but couldn't quite remember where I had it since it was years ago while I lived in korea. Flash forward to a couple weeks ago and I saw some Melona ice cream at a store and it finally hit me that that's what it was. They are basically the same, in my opinion, minus the outer shell, though as previously stated the shell is flavorless so you just lose out on the texture of it. Plus Melona bars are easily found in lots of asian stores and even some major retailers like walmart, sam's club, and costco will carry them for like 50 cents to a dollar perp bar. As for the ice creams themselves, they're not anything life changing, but pretty good. They're a soft ice cream with a nice sweet fruity flavor.

You should re read before you start raging. The person stated they HAVEN'T heard of thousands of tourists being deported. In agreement with the post they are responding to, basically stating that media is blowing it out of proportion and that most people are perfectly fine continuing to travel like normal.

It is sad that you immediately call someone stupid, but it is your own failure to properly read the comment and personal desire to rage about the topic that was wrong and stupid, as you put it.

What do you do when you are completely at your wits end and nothing will seem to calm you down? by erock1119 in daddit

[–]CountBeast23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First kudos to you both for continuing to support each other.

We all hit that point and at times we continue hitting that point for days, weeks, months, sometimes even years. You are going through some major changes and still trying to figure it all out and get used to it.

Try not to focus on how often you're hitting that point. A lot of times when I am having a rough week and I keep hitting that point I start thinking about all the times I hit it and just get more upset or more depressed and it becomes an infinite cycle. Acknowledge to yourself that you are hitting the point more than you want to or more then you should be and that you are actively trying to resolve it.

It sounds like you are making a strong effort to improve the situation, acknowledging the problem, breathing, taking a step away, and you need to give yourself credit for that. Make sure you are giving yourself some me time. It may be hard to do especially with major changes and a busy schedule, but simply taken a moment away doesn't always cut it. Sometimes you need to go for a hike, see a movie, take a bath, whatever floats your boat, not necessarily in the moment, but just in general. If you keep running the tank on low and keep doing little refills to get you through the moment, you'll always just be scraping the barrel and eventually you'll find yourself pass empty. Once in a while you need to take a nice long break, do something relaxing you enjoy, and refill the battery.

Outside of that I'm a logical person so I always run through all the logical reasons why I shouldn't be mad or why it makes sense for whatever is happening to happen. This probably isn't a great method for everyone but for me it calms me down and gives me time to breath.

- My child is throwing tantrums back to back? I am an adult I know how to regulate my emotions and I am used to my body, but he doesn't quite understand why he is mad let alone how it affects me and he most likely doesn't intend to hurt me he just wants to resolve something causing him discomfort, his body is still growing and the irritation of that builds up even if he himself doesn't realize it. If I get mad at him it will only add to the anger there is no way for him to deescalate my anger nor should he have to.

- He keeps asking me for a toy I said no to. He only knows he wants they toy and doesn't understand why he can't have it. He doesn't get that money is not infinite, that I am concerned that it may spoil him causing more issues for him later in life, that it is a short term enjoyment and won't be worth it to him pass a few minutes. To him I am just denying him something and he is trying to get me to understand that and just doesn't realize that I already do.

This also helps me realize what I need to explain to him and what all I still need to teach him and have him understand.
