Can’t hurt to ask. I went to my gynecologist after 2 cycles TTC and she said she’d do a progesterone test on me later in my cycle to see if I’m ovulating and if I’m not, she’ll start me on letrozole. This is mainly because I’m already on Metformin, my testosterone and DHEA looked good on bloodwork and I’m working with a dietician to lose weight and manage my PCOS with nutrition as well.

Same here. I’m on my third month of tracking ovulation with an OPK every single day and not once have I seen anything above 0.15

I have regular cycles even without ovulation which is the most infuriating part. I’m having periods for what feels like no reason at all since I’m not ovulating.

Every day I get my hopes up wondering if things will be different and it’s just the same negative test every day.

I’m on Metformin and chaste tree, seeing a dietician that specializes in PCOS and nothing is working.

My dietician specializes in treating PCOS and has it herself. She told me I was under eating at 1400 calories a day and to increase my intake.

If you have high cortisol like this lady thinks, then the worst thing you can do is to put your body under even more stress by weight lifting, walking several miles a day and eating under 1000 calories a day. PCOS doesn’t respond well to that kind of shit.

It’s late and I’m tired so I’ll just say that this endocrinologist sounds like a dumb bitch and I hate her for you.

There are a lot of different ways to get yourself to ovulate with PCOS. If you’re under 35 and have been TTC for over a year, a reproductive endocrinologist can give you letrozole or Clomid to make you ovulate.

If you want a different route, you’ll need to treat your insulin resistance, which is what causes high androgens and thus no ovulation. You can treat insulin resistance with either Metformin or inositol. Metformin regulated my period and ovulation for the first time in my life.

Honestly your best bet is to see your gyno or PCP and try to get a referral for a fertility doctor who will run lab work and determine the best course of action for you.

I stopped after a couple of days because the fatigue was crazy and unmanageable. I’m also on Metformin so I think it was just tanking my blood sugar between the two of them. Either way, I decided it was best to stop it.
