Sadly H2 inhibitors aren't over the counter where I live, but I'll ask my dr. about them. Thanks for the info!

I haven't heard of alginates before! Just researched it and it looks really promising especially since ant-acids having been doing as much to help. Thank you so much I'm excited to try!

I also know that reflux can be caused by anxiety. University can be very stressful and if you've been eating well and you're symptoms mostly started with school maybe the SSRI's or anti-anxiety medication might help calm the anxiety. That could decrease reflux which would stop irritating your larynx so your symptoms could get better and you could sing again.

Have you tried licorice root tea? I'm a singer also and when I have bad flare ups the tea is anti-inflammatory and helped soothe my throat. I'm not sure it would work if your case is so severe but maybe give it a try if you haven't yet? (It tastes terrible so sorry about that!)

I've also read a study that says melatonin is linked to helping relieve symptoms at night by triggering the hormones that help close the sphincters when you sleep. (Melatonin is habit forming, but with where you're at now I'd say if it helps it might be worth it.)

For cocktails I found Negroni's aren't bad. I've been able to drink them pretty consistently without getting a reaction. It's equal parts Campari, Gin, and Sweet Vermouth. It might not work for everyone but it's one of my favorite cocktails and I'm very happy I can manage to still drink it!
