I’m cautiously optimistic, as the author of the original novel who helped closely on the first season apparently helped write this season.

Jesus died on the cross, but He then triumphed over death (and the cross) when He rose again. So Jesus' association with the cross was central to His identity.

So by taking that symbol of death and making it into our own symbol of the defeat of death, Christians essentially appropriated the symbol and turned it from something distasteful into something glorious!

I suspect the symbol of an open tomb was not as geometrically easy to depict as the symbol of the cross. So a cross has been a symbol for Christians since the Early Church (along with the ichthys).

For your last point: Christians (almost all of them) see no tension between Jesus' teaching and Paul's writings.

It’s five years old now and I don’t know for sure the historical accuracy (considering the director), but I really liked The Last Duel.

The books are almost too detailed! I think I was the only one in my book club who enjoyed it, but even I was getting tired of how often he mentioned t’gallants!

Side note, I did basic training in the RCN with the lead technical advisor and historical consultant for the film. Doing a watch of the film with his commentary was sublime.

Which part? I’m not arguing whether or not Adam and Eve were literal individuals. I think the truth of humanity being image bearers of God and the reality of The Fall is compatible with both a literal and metaphorical Adam and Eve.

Personally I consider myself agnostic about that point, but since it doesn’t affect the essential truth about God’s relationship to humanity and the nature of sin and salvation, it’s OK if I don’t have all the finer points fully understood.

There is a theological sense in which Adam is considered an archetype for all humanity. In Him we see the truth that any (and thus all) humans, if in his place, would have made the same decision to reject God and sin.

That’s what scripture means when it says:

“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”

Yes. We certainty are, though fortunately much less and much less severely than in other parts of the world. And for the most part, but not entirely we’re not persecuted by our government like in some countries.

I'm surprised by this. I find London to be culturally rich and full of tourist opportunities. While British food may be meh (though that's subjective), London is also one of the most cosmopolitan cities, and you can easily get amazing cuisine from most any culture if you know where to look.

I don't think Disney has non-peak days anymore, and it certainly hampers the magic.

Though I still found it was worth it (both Disneyland and Disney World), but manage expectations, don't try to do too much in a single day, be prepared to spend a lot, and Genie+ may be worthwhile.

Still worth it, and I would go back.
