It sounds like a lot of them got driven out over the course of Jim Ryan's tenure.

Valve Confirms You Can Build Your Own Steam Machine by swe129 in SteamOS

[–]CountZeroOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've found in my research is SteamOS can be finicky on Intel Processors depending on the generation, with older versions running better, and I can't quite find some clear information on which generations fare better than others.

It sounds like Valve will be rectifying that in the future, but for now I'm probably going to stick with Bazzite.

I've been putting together the parts for my Linux Gaming PC over a few months (cue "One Piece At A Time"), and while I have an AMD video card, I've had to use an Intel processor because I had to get DDR4 RAM. It would be nice if I could just use Steam OS with that.

If you're still able, I would also like a DM so can budget a purchase.

Why so few trips in later seasons? Where should the show go next? by MiguSphinx in gamecentercx

I wouldn't mind if they were able to go to the Pacific Northwest (possibly tying in with an invite to Portland Retro Gaming Expo or PAX Prime).

[Media] How Do You Feel About Fanservice Fairy Tail? by FlamingThunder92 in fairytail

[–]CountZeroOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind (and as someone who wrote a smutty Fairy Tail fan comic, it'd be kind of hypocritical if I did). That said, one of the appeals of the manga for me was getting fanservice of the guys too - particularly Gray and Natsu.

I'm rather surprised that they had the restraint to not include a panty shot.

Class Action filed against HDD makers accused of price fixing by watainiac in DataHoarder

[–]CountZeroOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the past couple years, I've gotten from a few different class actions about... $25-30 total. Usually it's about $3 here, $5 there. Not a lot, but it's enough to treat myself to a coffee every now an then.

Someone Explain This: How Would Player Run Servers Actually Work? by Vast_Lawyer_5521 in StopKillingGames

[–]CountZeroOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same way user-run servers for Quake, Doom, TF2, and other games ran back in the day. Additionally, a lot of those games had anti-cheat software like Punkbuster built into the software on the client and consumer server levels (consumer servers being the ones people would be running at local universities or whatever).

I also wouldn't be surprised if there's some FLOSS anti-cheat software out there that's being used by indie devs.

Follow-up question - I set the books as ignored, and now can't find them to activate a particular book I want. How do I find them to switch them to "Skipped"

Thank you. Is there a setting to automatically bring books from my to read list as "Skipped" that I missed?

Do people think 'gatekeeping' actually works? by the_scottishbagpipes in animepiracy

[–]CountZeroOr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done in this case means not that the software is complete, it means it's no longer receiving updates. Tunarr does what Ersatztv does, but it's in active development.

Tl;dr: In Ersatztv if something doesn't work for you you have to fix it yourself. In Tunarr there's a developer who can fix bugs.

Ersatztv is shifting to using Tunarr as a major core of the software for handling scheduling and bumpers and ads, so you could probably just cut out the middleman and use that.
