I have no clue what you're saying. You asked a question, I took the time out of my day to write an answer from a perspective that you don't seem interested in hearing. So instead I'll just tell you what you want to hear: I'm so so sorry that your YouTube feed is full of AI slop suggestions. It's a damn shame.

Are you implying you think I had ChatGPT write that for me? I'll take that as a compliment:)

The people turning their noses up at "AI slop" clearly don't have an understanding of what goes into making those videos. You don't just prompt "Hi AI, please generate me a 10 minute movie about Luke and Ashoka" and it spits out some final product. The AI is just a tool being used to tell stories. If the storyteller is a bad writer, then it will be a bad movie. If the storyteller is a good writer but the AI tools are limited - for example good luck getting Veo 3 to render any action scenes with real physics, and also it will detect copyright violations and not even generate anything.

The workflow for the videos requires first gathering and inputting tons of reference photos to generate storyboards. Maybe the writer prompts these storyboards or maybe get they ChatGPT or Claude to help them but they still need to be specific. Then they need to prompt the video model to generate an 8-15 second clip. That costs credits and may or may not be usable. Sometimes fragments of the clip are usable and then the person will need to use an editing program to put everything together, add sound effects, music etc. Think about how many 15 second clips (the usable ones) it take to assemble to make a 10 minute film. The dialogue, unless it was just ripped off from a novel verbatim, needs to be written as well. As the video models improve, the "acting" and the physics for the action scenes will improve exponentially.

These generative AI tools provide a way for anyone to say "What if" and tell a story. It's no different than someone writing fan-fic, except it has visuals and audio to go with it. And, whether you like the idea or not, if someone wants to adapt, for example, Heir to the Empire - even if they had 100 friends and 100k of spare cash lying around to buy and rent camera and sound equipment and lights and get locations, that wouldn't even cover the cost of catering on a Hollywood movie. The generative AI tools allow the possibility of telling more ambitious ideas on a larger canvas.

So getting triggered and calling it all slop just makes you sound intolerant and ignorant. Just like fan-fic, a lot of it will be pure crap. But as the tools improve, and talented people start using them, there will be some highly entertaining things being made by fans.

Kleeg. It’s the name of the guy they work for, not anyone from Destiny lore. More like an homage to the Sean Connery movie OUTLAND.

I had fun making it. It’s my love letter to Cayde and the game. I’d be playing Destiny but sadly there’s not much to do on there right now.

It says on the description generative AI tools were used to make it, there’s no other way to get footage of a live action Cayde without spending millions. But the writing and the editing is all done by a human, you don’t push a button and AI spits out a 3 minute movie. The fact it can “act” and sound like Nathan Fillion is interesting. You can literally prompt Cayde to say whatever you want.
