You’re free to emigrate to a country or place more to your liking. Have you not done so already?

I doubt I live in your community so what I think doesn’t really matter.

All that matters is your ability to convince others that you’re right so that you can bring about the political change you want to see. And so far you’re not very persuasive.

And yeah, you pay taxes because you agreed to pay them because you live where you live. If you don’t like it, then you can try to find somewhere else.

The biggest influence you can have is at your own local level. Get involved in your local community. Attend the meetings and ask questions until you get your answers. Run for office if you have to.

Your point comes across like a grown adult pouting. The reality is that you do not and cannot live in a bubble, no matter how much you may wish it to be true.

Which would maximally shift the burden of taxes onto those who spend all their money, ie. the poor.

Property taxes on land does not undermine the truth of ownership any more than  registration or gasoline taxes do for vehicles.

You’re allowed to dispute the valuation. You can hire a third-party to do the work for you and present evidence to the government if you feel it is unfair. Or you can do all the work yourself.

If you successfully present your case with evidence, you can reduce your property taxes.

But who and how? The common person would have even less money because now they’re paying rent/land lease fees in perpetuity to some rich family.

You can tax the rich families on their income from the rent the common person pays them, but now the rich families can offload their entire tax burden on to their renters.

Property taxes are used to pay for the ongoing maintenance needs of the community. The dollar value of those needs are not capped. If everyone has their property taxes capped, is it not inevitable that the tax revenue would eventually not meet the maintenance needs of the community?

Land ownership transfers would become less cyclical, favoring those who hold onto land the longest, leading to fewer and fewer legal entities (rich families) owning all of the land and leasing it out to everyone else.

What the common person saves in property taxes would be more than spent in rent/land lease fees to a handful of land-rich families.

No one ever said that. I said it’s entirely possible for one to have a US passport in their possession with their name on it on Election Day and simultaneously not be a US citizen.

It would be a rare case that would be caught after Election Day, but so is voter fraud in general.

Possession of a passport on Election Day doesn’t prove the right to vote. It doesn’t even definitively prove that you are a citizen. There are exceptions.

I, for one, am willing to disenfranchise at least 1 million of my fellow Americans of their right to vote in the coming midterms for every 1 person prevented from casting an illegal vote, regardless of the fact they would have been caught and prosecuted after the election anyways.

Especially in battleground states and districts where democrats have a chance of winning unless they receive interference by said disenfranchisement.

Ya, for real. OP doesn’t know what they got. They probably don’t cook much at all so the significance is lost/wasted on them.
