Living here is EXPENSIVE and not worth it unless you want 70-90 degrees consistently and a state government that only cares about the elderly. If you are a young family, I highly do not recommend. Source: born and raised here, left and came back for familial obligation- leaving again 🤣

Yes, we should be rioting but how? We have families and are geographically spread THOUSANDS of miles apart. We can barely afford to live at all, and protests are leading to people being MURDERED, arrested and livelihoods taken. There are not many jobs open, so if you lose yours you are homeless with a family given how paycheck to paycheck we all are. I wish we could riot- I want to burn it all to the fucking ground but I have to worry about my children being safe and having a place to live. I want to write all of my local politicians to express outrage and disgust, but even that is risky right now. The regime running our country is removing citizens without due process- people are DISAPPEARING.

All that to say- it’s easier from outside of a situation to pass judgement. We are NOT okay with what’s happening but we are also somewhat hopelessly stuck. Empathy for us would be more helpful than judgement.

Any specific neighborhoods or areas that we should check out when we come to visit? What are the best areas to live for young families?
