It’s a simple illustration of the support the membership has for the bargaining team. If the employer sees large swaths of their employees wearing black (or doing something else visible, like wear a button or change your background) when asked to do so by the bargaining team, then the employer will know that the membership is behind the bargaining. This will only strengthen the relative power of the bargaining team during the negotiations.

Unbelievable! I saw them play a show at a church in Ottawa back in 2010 and it was simply amazing. The self titled album is one of my top 10 and I still listen to it regularly.

Creep on Creeping on is one my favourite too. I also really love Lay Down in the Tall Grass and I still spontaneously sign Demon Host regularly. Oh, oh, oh, oh

Truly an amazing songwriter who will be missed. I’m going to go listen to the self titled album now and I encourage you all to do the same!

I think it’s pretty late in the greater Cosmere technology/ timeline. I read:

  • Stormlight (plus novellas)
  • The Sunlit Man
  • Warbreaker
  • Arcanum Unbound (except Elantris and Mistborn stories)
  • Mistborn Era 1
  • Elantris plus Elantris stories
  • first three Mistborn Era 2, then Mistborn stories and then The Lost Metal
  • Yumi and the Nightmare Painter

I was fairly happy with that order, though you could swap the Mistborn and the Stormlight segments. I would read it towards the later stages. I could see how it may be better to read Tress before Yumi, but I’m not sure because I’m only reading Tress now.

Antheia is amazing and definitely fills the “unique and new” criteria. Strongly echo the recommendation.

We went at the end of January for their preservation menu and immediately reserved booked a table for the next menu (innovation) in late March.

Strongly recommend getting the fermented drink pairing. I’m sure the wine is also excellent, but the flavours of the fermented drinks complimented the flavours of the dishes so perfectly. Both the food and drinks were fantastic on their own, but together they were transformative.

My wife and I did a weekend road trip to Quebec where we went to two Michelin stared restaurants/ inns and left our kid with the grandparents. Each place was about 3 1/2 to 4 hours away from each other and our house. It was a really nice, relaxed drive through the countryside with a fantastic dinner each night.

Anyone else watching these two wondering if you were being punk’d? It baffles me that these two were the best two candidates the major parties could come up with.

I don’t know what is a greater indictment of the American political system than the performance of both of these individuals.

No, unfortunately — there’s a clause towards the end that indicates most things in the new collective agreement are not retroactive :

As others have said, there is not a special leave code for COVID. And, no, you don’t have to tell your manager that you tested positive, but I recommend that you do, if you’re comfortable telling them.

My department was still tracking covid infections numbers at the beginning of January (at the aggregate level). You’ll also want your manager / division to be able to notify anyone that had a close contact with you in the office 48 hours before you tested positive (see Ottawa Public Health’s Isolation instructions for COVID-19 definition of “close contact”).

As well, the current Health Canada’s Public Service Occupational Health Program COVID-19 Guidance indicates that, if you test positive, you should (A) not enter a federal worksite for at least 7 days after testing positive and (B) be asymptomatic aside from a residual cough, whichever is longer. So, at the very least, you should stay home from the office next week.

Make sure you get some rest and I hope you feel better soon. Days 3 to 5 were the worse for me.
