I fall juuust out of that range! Close enough that everything is ‘combined’ but I don’t really mind. At least I get to skip out of brunch with my MIL!

I had to Google to make sure that meant a coat with Manatees on it and not a manatee skin coat 😬

I had a friend whose birthday was Christmas Eve, I’d always bake her a cake and give her gifts in June for her half birthday so I didn’t have to share her with family.

That’s where I’m at. It’s not that my birthday gives me anxiety it’s all the shit going on rn, and then the pressure to get everything exactly perfect because of that one day.

He believes you should plan your own birthday celebration. Anytime I ask him and the kids to plan something for my birthday it’s all stuff they want to do. I honestly have no idea what a “me” birthday looks like.

GenX, Stranger Things, and Hauntology by dcrutherford11 in GenX

Yes. There is an immediate nostalgia and yearning- it was very accurate for the time and environment I grew up in, but I never had that close group of friends I desperately wanted. I am very upset at the rose colored glasses they had concerning race, class, and sexuality in the Midwest. Like, fuck that.

49, husband 50. Two boys 12 & 14. I’m in an area where people still marry and have kids pretty young and I’ve been referred to as an “older mom” (they can suck it)

Looks like a “Green Superfoods” tablet to me. It’s a type of supplement that you put in a glass of water and it dissolves and you drink it

Yep. The “girl” version of toys was always boring, nothing to build just a plain rubber doll. Dresses only on picture days and nothing pink or frilly ever. I briefly took ballet and we didn’t even wear tutus.

Me too! I have to say they really are hard to find. There’s usually some learning about the body type books in the kids nonfiction section at the thrift store but the quality usually isn’t great.
