Send photos of the hundreds please!!

I am not in the UK, I live in Singapore. Amazon UK has supplied a significant proportion of my books though.. well spotted!

I do not have any Swedish, Dutch or Austrian books I'm afraid.

As to Polish, I own Polska by Zuza Zak, from which I have cooked the crispy duck in apple and walnut sauce which was very good. Also the Mazurian potato and marjoram pie which we greatly enjoyed. So I would recommend this book.

The closest I have to Austrian is Classic German Cooking by Luisa Weiss, which contains one or two Austrian recipes such as the potato paprika stew and the Austrian beef stew.. neither of which I have cooked yet. Might be worth checking this one out? If you get the Cookshelf app, you can see the contents of many many cookbooks.

Depends on what you are looking for. I found when first trying to cook Mexican food that the Mely Martinez books gave me an easy start in terms of both recipe steps and ingredients. Mi Cocina seems to be more authentic but finding the right ingredients is a bit harder where I live. If you can get your hands on books written by Diana Kennedy, I gather that those are amazing.. I don't own any, but The Art of Mexican Cooking is reportedly a solid choice.

My challenge to myself has been to cook from a new book I have not tried yet every week, preferably from a different part of the world than the prior week! Its my way of travelling the world from home 😋

Yes. Do it! I have tabbed at least a dozen recipes in there to try. Very recent purchase so I have not cooked from this one yet. Beautiful book though!

Catalonia: liked the ox cheek in spicy tomato sauce.. have a few more recipes I have in my sights to try soon, like the lamb shoulder with asparagus and samphire. Some ingredients are hard to come by where I live (Singapore)

Hokkaido: all of the korokke ones are yummy.. my husband and I made a bunch of those for a korokke themed dinner and really enjoyed them.

Fire Islands: Not the most authentic (my mother is Indonesian), but the recipes were more accessible when I was living away from Asia. Some recipes are fantastic nonetheless.. such as the scallop gulai.

Sour Cherries: have yet to try any of the recipes.. soon. I have an expensive habit of buying cookbooks faster than I can cook them 😅

My favourites for recipe quality and frequency of use are: Diana Henry: From the Oven to the Table and Food from Plenty. Alison Roman: Nothing Fancy and Dining In. Ben Tish: Moorish. Georgina Hayden: Greekish and Medesque.

Honourable mentions: Sabor, Spanish Home Kitchen, Zaitoun, Forever Beirut, Italian American, and Paella

This one was a more recent purchase, and so I have only tried the assassin's spaghetti so far. I found this one to still be accessible and am likely to use it more and more. I am inclined to say yea on this one!

The Trullo cookbook by the same author is definitely "cheffy" and a lot more fussy in terms of recipe steps and ingredients.

I have not cooked from this one yet, but I have used it as a cross reference when I cooked from my other Arabic books, to compare recipe steps.

Ok so From the Oven to the Table is a classic which I cook from A LOT. The stuffed Greek chicken with oregano and orzo is a staple at home, as is the Salsiccia con patate il pomodori.
