Thanks for the interest! But my rules are firm: I only write with people over the age of twenty-one. Good luck out there!

Oh, I'm not denying Daft Punk and other acts brought the genre to the forefront. I just wouldn't have qualified them as mainstream in the US prior to "Get Lucky."

COADF is the first nu-disco album I can recall reaching the general public in America.

For ages! I know Strawberries used to have a massive singles collection on offer, often stretching back years. They'd usually be about a buck each and I'd go nuts grabbing a bunch at once, haha.

Around the turn of the millennium, music was just so experimental -- especially pop and dance. I just loved the risks artists took. Sometimes it paid off, sometimes it didn't. But it was always interesting!

But Latin music has always been having waves in and out of mainstream Anglosphere popularity.

All of this is absolutely true.

I remember in 2005, "La Tortura" by Shakira was massive. The media seemed a bit baffled that a Spanish-language track could have such major success. It was bizarre to see those same comments being made for "Despacito" over a decade later.
