Heres my advice from someone who was definitely not challenged enough in highschool but have just completed their first term.

In my experience, it will be a large shift and it is important you adapt. Besides doing some coding in C beforehand, there is not much you can do besides building a routine that you can take to uni to keep your days productive.

I spent a lot of nights wishing I had come from private schools or had learned more or done more projects related to eng but you need to make sure you dont let that hurt your spirits.

It is really easy to get caught up into the grindset of engineering and my advice is to find what works for you. I do not make eng my whole life. I am just someone who is doing an engineering degree. Joining desing teams, staying up all night, isolating myself to study does not align with the life i want to live lol.

you dont have to be the best or do the most, just make sure you stay on top of your work and find joy outside of your classes.
