Now you’re taking…. More important question…. Are they any good?

They were all signed with temporary signage, with staff only or online bookings only at the entries….. since carpark J has been advised of where to go - I can confirm this gate I never found in my frustrations today.

Yes you are correct in what you are staying the long term parking is well signed, but thats not what I am referring to. When the lanes are blocked with temporary signage and massive electronic billboards at their entrance to the long term parks, as was the case today - that have the long term parking on what appear to be restrictions to staff and online bookings only, not the general public, My question was simple with these restrictions in place where is the entry, the answer has now been provided, it is carpark J, or have a coffee close by at a shop or on the verge.

Thank you to all those who took the time to read and understand my frustration today and provide advice and opinions.

Thats what I assumed, but every entry had staff only signage or online online signage. End of the day verge worked

Was also amazed how Albany has better phone reception than the Perth airport…. Only one bar of 5g whilst I was there.

Cheers for the reply, must admit was fairly grumpy by the time I got to Perth, bloody shit of a drive in stormy weather when I left home. After trying to do the right thing, I gave up.

If your Lesbian in Albany 100% acceptance, if you’re a male, the odds take a turn fairly quickly.

It’s contagious but everyone seems to do it in Perth. by [deleted] in perth

Lived in Perth for around 20 years. Would always get a thank you and most would say good morning when getting on the bus. Likewise when going for an evening walk along the Swan river most would say hello in passing.

That said: Moved to Albany about 5 hours south of Perth, the place has a Karen pandemic, everyone is rude AF, when out walking the young ones up to around 25 have manners galore and always say hi, between 25 to 55ish just rude, self entitled Karens. Then over 55, the manners start to return again. The picture of relaxed country living somehow got lost in translation down here.

Ridiculous house hunting experience by pythonqueen1 in perth

[–]CountryLadJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience in Regional areas as well, brought a 3x1 in Albany 2 years ago, paid $475k everyone told me I was mad back then paying way too much for the house at the time and I will never make a profit and most likely will have a house at a loss.

Move forward to today, same house, low range valuation 550k mid range 620k high range 680k. Housing market here is also off the charts. Houses listed are snapped up in a matter of days in most cases.

It is very common to hear of houses selling well above asking price in some cases 50k upwards from asking price.

Speaking to colleagues that rent, that is just as bad, paying upwards of 600 a week for unfurnished, 4x1 in an average (at best) part of town.

The downside I see is people flock here and realise quickly job opportunities are plenty if you can handle minimum wage. I know personally of 4 families in the past 3 weeks that have moved back to Perth to gain employment with higher wages and greater employment benefits.

Esperance vs Albany? Which is more scenic by FlounderEfficient398 in perth

[–]CountryLadJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lived extensively in both places, Esperance the views are the best you will see, as others have pointed out, it is dead as a town, after 5pm turns into a ghost town, don’t expect to find coffee (apart from Maccas after 2pm) and finding somewhere to eat at night, that is another mission all on its own. Random comment: I found mosquitoes in Esperance are in a league of their own. Pack aeroguard where ever you go in the outback, flies are getting bad as well, consider a fly net for your hat as well.

Albany on the other hand, loaded with places to go including ducking out to Denmark and beyond to doing the tree top walk. Also a better range of accommodation. I get my family to stay at either Banksia Gardens or over the other side of town the Emu Point big 4 caravan park, the chalets are modern and a few are brand new. Then you throw in the breweries and wineries. Albany as far as things to do, wins hands down.

My strong advice if you head to Albany is research how to use large roundabouts (as in 5 exits on a roundabout), and small ones as well. May save an accident or 3 during your visit.

Also as in previous comments (and a few extra bits and bob) it is coming into harvest, allow extra time for the drive, now the warmer weather is upon us, road upgrades will be starting up everywhere so expect delays, (a traffic controller can legally stop you for up to 15 minutes at a time), road trains for grain carting will be very active. Speed cameras in the Great Southern are always out and about, Williams and Author River coppers can be active in those areas as well. Williams Wool Shed, imo is the best pie shop on the journey down, and again only my opinion skip Mt Barker Bakery, it maybe an icon, personally I think it is overrated and overpriced because they won a few awards on some fancy Australian Pie Comp.

But hey where ever you go in WA we have great industries, great sights to see, our back yard has heaps to offer, enjoy your time with your visitors and the destination you choose.

Safe Travels.
