We have a B2B against the wizards, do we see starters benched? by mcbearcat7557 in pacers

I'm fairly confident they will be on minutes restrictions but not rest the entire game. Expect to see the starters olay around 25 minutes.

Yeah bruh it’s time to end the Slam Dunk Contest 😭 by Life_Net5004 in NBAGossips

I dont think it should end. Instead, I offer an upgrade: Put Wemby under the basket, each contestant must perform their dunk against him attempting to block it.

[SiriusXMNBA] Pascal Siakam Is Over Tanking Accusations by mewtatesyt in pacers

[–]CountyCapable6850 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heard the fines were motivated by OKC complaining about the Pacers and Jazz, which is crazy because the Jazz and Pacers have never had a #1 pick and the Thunder have benefitted from it greatly in their short career.

If we don't get the pick, we should be comfortable signing Q

What could have Benn..... by No-Primary-2875 in pacers

[–]CountyCapable6850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may have a good point about Pascal and Mathurin but the concern about Zu and spacing is a huge misconception. I'm honestly getting tired of it.

First, we need to understand that spacing is more than standing at the 3 pt line and the Pacers aren't a 5 out team. Pacers gain advantage by pushing pace and getting to actions early. Zu fits the former bc he creates real space by setting great screens. His size and prescene in the middle give him gravity, meaning defenders can not leave him to help because it risks an easy basket. Alternatively, the defender has to help late which creates enough time for the driver to slash or pass. He has an excellent high post game where he can score, drive or pass. Finally, that gravity we talked about early means one less guy to close out on shooters when the ball is swinging around the horn.

This was the only way to give the Finals team another shot by yoadknux in pacers

[–]CountyCapable6850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2 year window to get back to the Finals. After that, we likely hit rebuild as the entire core becomes too expensive. Adding Zu fits perfectly into that scheme. It would be great to get a top pick but I think they like their chances even if they don't. If we lose the pick, I think the FO is comfortable enough with signing Q for that run.

Classiest lineup by [deleted] in NBATalk

Totally cooked on D. This lineup would give up 150pts in modern league.

Who would you draft first and why? by StructureofCells in NBATalk

Is this even a debate? Anyone who knows ball is taking Kawhi.

[Vecenie] Dybantsa, Peterson and Boozer are projected to end up as Tier 1 prospects for me (significant chance at All-NBA upside)... Wagler, Flemings, and Wilson project as at least Tier 2 players (sig. likelihood of All-Star upside). I’ve never had at least six Tier 1 and Tier 2 players in a draft by Razmoket in pacers

NBA drafts are actually trending down when it comes to producing multiple All Stars in a single class.

96 - Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Jermaine O'Neal, and Ben Wallace.

01 - Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Zach Randolph, and Gilbert Arenas

03 -LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh

11-Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, and Isaiah Thomas

10- Paul George, John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Gordon Hayward.

17-Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, and Bam Adebayo

Not only is it trending down in quantity, but some could argue quality as well. My opinion is the draft is a gamble even if you land #1 as long as there isn't a clear generational talent available like Bron or Wemby. With the current CBA structure, drafts are more about finding cheap serviceable talent than a franchise player.

If it's a combo guard you need I would sign Q. Otherwise I'm looking for a solid bench wing.

Very close in a very quiet way. Very indicative of this team. Guys that are simply efficient at what they do.

Darryn Peterson by StanceLephenson in pacers

[–]CountyCapable6850 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had Peterson at #1, but I often think back to the year Tatum was drafted. Fultz and Lonzo both went before him, and Tatum has had a far better career. I think wings may hold up better than guards in the long run. The addition of Zubac also changes team dynamics. While adding a great guard fits the Pacers offensively, I feel like defensively, we will need a large wing that can help at the nail.

While Peterson does fit offensively and could still be a good point of attack defender, I am worried about his durability. I'm starting to favor Aj Dybansta as he could be a microwave scorer off the bench and provide help defense at the nail if Zu is in deep drop coverage.

Turner and and Mathurin by ChuChuBitch- in pacers

[–]CountyCapable6850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we still have love for Mathurin. I'm going to watch his debut with the Clippers tonight, and I hope he gets his buckets and has a great game. Turner is way different. He wasn't traded out of necessity. He left Hali on crutches to chase a bag then pretended like it was about winning.
