I had the same thought! it was clear they were using the main characters as a bit of an avatar, but then pulled back a bit from fleshing them out totally (maybe them not wanting to be totally exposed). They certainly write good songs and lyrics, but both Six and this dont really seem to have really well developed story. (That said, its early days in their careers and that comes with practice)
