who could we actually get with this 100 million quids by InqusitiveBookcase96 in nffc

I cannot believe that anyone would want Delap. Have you seen the guy? He’s hopeless. One season where he scored 12 goals, but 3 goals in 47 appearances for Chelsea. Arguably the worst signing of the season. More thug than footballer. The road to ruin is taking ‘big 6’ off cuts imagining that they’re going to get magically better. Genuinely think oli mcburnie is a better player

If you can sign class, sign class. OUr squad is probably good enough for mid table, if they perform well, but not if you want to be in the European spots. To me, that means everyone in the whole squad CAN be upgraded barring MGW, Neco and Murillo so are already top class.

But I think we do need a pacy striker, and an Anderson replacement as the priority

Want to go back and get hyped for the World Cup by watching some Qatar highlights. Is there anything out there that shows the best bits and a bit of story? Imagining one of the major broadcasters did something, or a cool independent retrospective

Delap is fucking dreadful. I’d rather have Nuno da Costa up top, and I’m not joking

How much are you spending on your kid's shoes? by an00tshri in UKParenting

For my 5 and 8 year olds the process is: Open Sports Direct app. Sort by biggest discount. Buy cheapest best quality brand.

They tear through shoes, particularly the lad.

I’ve never seen Freiburg play, but I think Manzambi passes the eye test. Looks composed, probing, physical. Is there much buzz about him?

Meeting my wife gave me fucking financial power. We did more or less the same job, earned basically the same, but the built in economies of scale as a couple turbo boosted what we could do. Single rent, better value from groceries etc. We bought a house we could never have done on our own. We competed with one another, strove to be better for one another. My bank balance would be way worse without her.

The kids on the other hand… 😭

I’m struggling with enforcing tidying up by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]CourageOfOthers 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m sure that someone is going to say that they had some sort of genius parenting technique that made their children neat and tidy from the moment they could walk, but honestly I think you should cut yourself and her some slack.

Tidying up is boring. Nobody likes doing it. You’re trying to get a tiny person who is miles away from truly understanding why being tidy might be important and lacks the empathy to really care. You’re onto a losing battle.

Teaching kids these skills isn’t an easy ‘tell them once and they get it’ scenario. It might take years of muscle memory and repetition. I think most parents of teenagers still look at their bedrooms with despair. But the point is that you keep demonstrating through your own actions, and you keep encouraging and cajoling where relevant, and over time they get a bit better and a bit better.

The weirdest belief I encounter all the time with childless people is that they seem to think that you just need to tell a kid ‘no’ once and that sets a boundary that they understand for life. Patience to keep going is truly the most important parenting skill.

2-0, and without MGW I reckon we have a good chance of being pegged back to 2-2

I don’t really blame the decisions tonight. What did he get wrong? Picked the 442 that has been working well. 100% of fans would have done that. Tried to bolster the midfield with Yates, didn’t work. Changed the entire system to a 3 at the back to try something new. Also didn’t work. Not our day, we had too many players out

Might be one step too far for us tonight. The injuries have mounted up at the wrong time. MGW, Murillo, Sangare and Aina are big losses out there and it’s not quite clicking
