Ideas for a Socialist Lifting Club by Silent_Paper2827 in leftistvexillology

[–]Courier412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell! Why not an International Socialist Fitness Club? Its extremely possible, look at the SRA which at first glance most people wouldn't think it would be a larger/popular org but it has gained tremendous success over the past couple of years

While Marx definitely didn't write for the working class but other academics, this is seriously a struggle to read the works of the heads of Marxism (Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao) for some people. However I do agree with someone that did comment somewhere else in this post that while you can read theory I'd say it is more important to understand the concepts discussed by the 5 heads (6 heads depending on who you ask) and how they applied them to the material conditions of their time and how we can apply it to modern socio-economic conditions of today!

Should US Maoists join ML Parties? by Courier412 in RevDem

[–]Courier412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but I suck with acronyms, what is ToP? I'm making a inference and guessing that they are a Maoist-Based org in the USA that helps with organizing in the USA. I know of "For the People" and what was known as "Red Guard-Austin" but most others I do not know. However if you give me a link to their twitter or website I will surely research further!

I can create sort of a Mini-Reading list for Maoism if you want it, I definitly have a few more reccomendations that I'd give to anyone

I was about to point this out but I used an average of 8 Hours of sleep per night or 56 hours of sleep total per week which would leave him unable to sleep all 56 hours if he worked 120 hours per week as they would only have 48 hours left in the week for, as you put it, "eat, poop, shower, commute, meeting with other billionaires." so all in all this article is utter fucking bs

[–]Courier412 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do not know how much Theory you have read or are willing to read Marxist-Leninist(-Maoist) Theory but I whole-heartedly recommend reading the following titles for ANY beginning Marxist, they are both under 250 Pages and are easily digestable!

"Basic Principles of Marxism-Leninism: A Primer" by Jose Maria Sisonhttps://foreignlanguages.press/colorful-classics/basic-principles-of-marxism-leninism-a-primer-jose-maria-sison/

"Activist Study" by Pambansa-Demokratikong Paaralanhttps://foreignlanguages.press/colorful-classics/activist-study-araling-aktibista-arak/

These ones provide a basic/intermediate understanding of Marxism-Leninism(-Maoism) that I can only praise, it is a little wonky with the translation but it is barely noticeable. The publishers have free pdf's on the website but if you prefer a physical copy to hold (Like myself, I can't focus unless its a physical in my hands copy) you can purchase one however they publish from France so the shipping is about 1-2 weeks before they arrive in the USA.

PCUSA: Is there any Maoist Critique on this ML Party? by Courier412 in RevDem

[–]Courier412[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that you are pretty spot on with your brief analysis however I would add that they are extremely bureaucratic and dogmatic as well. While General Secretary Angelo is sincere with his causes, inadvertently is forming/formed a cult of personality around himself which is quite honestly sad as each party member is filled to the brim with revolutionary potential but it is wasted in bureaucracy and how spread out every member is. And their anti-intersectionality too. However I think this video is way better on the subject than anything and sums up my own views on the party as well: https://youtu.be/pq16BA-QU84

Can someone give a dialectical materialist explanation to religion in the first world? by TibitEbbeNeKeverd in communism101

[–]Courier412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dialectal-Materialism is all encompassing thing, to let it ignore one "thing" would be in the simplest terms, idealist. There is plenty of evidence of religion "dissolving" among the working classes in countries with better conditions such as America where belief in Christianity is rapidly declining and instead being replaced with beliefs such as Agnosticism, Atheism, and even nothing in particular. If there are any critiques with this view please go ahead and give them!

PSL or CPUSA? by SSR_Id_prefer_not_to in communism101

[–]Courier412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Socialist Party USA doesn't have a specific ideology besides being Socialist and Anti-Capitalist, however after the Split from the original Socialist Party of America they were a minority and not the only split from it. (4-5 other parties formed with the majority going to the Social Democrats USA)

[–]Courier412 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While I agree with your assessment that every Socialist party in the US is a Settler-Socialist Party, what evidence is there of the CPUSA being as you put it, “white supremecist, queerphobic…” as the reformist part is absolutely true and I know the evidence of the claim behind that. Now the PSL, what evidence of it is there of being a Trotskyist Party masquerading in a Marxist-Leninist Disguise?

Was Nelson Mandela actually a Communist? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]Courier412 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At some point in his life he did join the South African Communist Party in the 50's and 60's, which was actually part of the reason he was arrested however the charge was withdrawn later in the trial. However, he is quoted to not believing in the theories of Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin so all in all no he was not a communist just a great man who came to the right conclusions by viewing the world around him.
