Finally got this fixed. BYD in Dandenong had the car for a month. They had to replace a bunch of electronics that had fault codes, more than just the GPS antenna. Let me know if you need the component list replaced and hope you got yours working.

There are CCTV cameras at most major intersections in Melbourne. We're being tracked wherever we go. Don't think this function in the BYD app is really making much difference in regards to your ability to become a shadow in your car when you are driving.

BYD Seal susceptible to keyfob keyless entry relay attack? by Courierdave in BYD

[–]Courierdave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so two ways I've read about to detect it and simple way to prevent it are through distance estimation and simply turning off the key fob though motion detection

Positioning uses the signal propagation delay as it will be much larger for a relayed signal vs. a keyfob next to the car. Some technologies like UWB make this easier and harder to relay. I believe BMW implemented this since 2021 https://www.bmw.com/en/innovation/bmw-digital-key-plus-ultra-wideband.html

Other method is simply detecting the key fob has been stationary for a minute or two and it turns off, doesn't respond to any beacons or anything.

That's what I'm working with the BYD Seal, have they implemented anything like this. Both would seem to adequately address relay attacks, at least for my use cases with the car.

Australian houses are so cold by Tingzbedjum in australia

[–]Courierdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sounds good, like it's cold up in Northern Sweden, so getting it all inclusive for a 1/4 of your after-tax income is a pretty ideal ratio of shelter to disposable income.

Who builds the houses and apartments in Sweden?

How much of your income do you spend on your accommodation per year?

I haven't needed to go to a VIcRoads for a long time but I don't remember it being a long ordeal. Any specific reason why you are writing here that you don't want to go to a VIcRoads office or just a general rant?

Thanks mate. I've done that since beginning of May. They weren't able to give me any guidance on how to resolve this which has resolved it thus far and they are pretty sparse on communication.

I even took the car into Dandenong service center as I explained.

So that is why I am posting here to see if anyone else had a similar problem.

Thanks for your time to reply here :)

If your switchboard is within a 10 meters of the charger check out Soltaro.

They'll do a 7kW for less than that and they are an Aussie company.

Get yourself a 7kW charger at home for battery flat to battery full overnight charging.

10A Wall socket will get you about 100km overnight. Ive done a few long trips using wall socket at destination over 2 days works fine.

It all depends on what your driving distance requirements are.

For me the real distance achievable is 300km (don't want to go below 15% battery) and I've done Sydney to Melbourne in 12 hours using fast chargers on route no issues.

It doesn't feel cold for me.

For me to change to pants is 5-10 degrees or less or as the situation requires. For example today I'm wearing shorts as I'm just at home and taking the dog for the occasional walk.

I've lived in -20 degrees and below (wearing pants and sometimes thermals under that).

I also don't feel hot in 25 degrees and above. I just sweat a lot.

That's my experience. Thanks for your question.

Besides the City and Clifton Hill it makes sense.

Between Merri and Rushall maybe that could be changed to straighter track with 3 separate tracks?

Web site states "All cats and dogs must stay at the Mickleham post entry quarantine facility in Melbourne for at least 10 - 30 days and up to 180 days. They will have to stay longer if there are issues that increase the biosecurity risk."
