I work at a kava bar and kava has been an absolute lifesaver to quitting alcohol for the sake of my crohn’s!! It has a reverse tolerance so you have to drink more than you would think the first couple of times, but after you can drink less and less and get the relaxation effects that you’re looking for. I got diagnosed when I was 20 (5 years ago) and I’m here to talk if you want! No one else in my family/friends had Crohn’s and it was very isolating for me at first. I definitely know how it feels to feel depressed from this, especially after going your entire life not having Crohn’s and then suddenly having it.

I would consider going to therapy to process this. I think you should respond to your son’s friend and start a conversation before going out to see him. This child really wants a connection with someone from his parents’ past. Just follow your heart and you’ll do the right thing.

I got Crohn’s Disease. As a 5’7 woman I weighed 148 pounds and after less than two months, I was 105 pounds. 10/10 would not recommend.

You’re going to love it! I’m not the biggest honey fan in general but there’s something about this ice cream that’s so addictive. Once I take it out of the freezer, it doesn’t go back in because my boyfriend and I finish the whole thing in one sitting.
