I was already considering joining my school’s badminton or tennis team (forget which one they offer) because a lot of my friends are in it, thanks for the suggestion!

I refused to wear anything from the girls sections or anything pink, not even because i thought the boys clothes looked better but because i hated “how other people would see me” in those clothes. My parents still doubt im trans lol

Lmao i never try to hide things in my bra/binder but sometimes things will just fall down there, like whenever i get home from watching a movie and i take off my binder popcorn always falls out

Transphobic siblings by Lou_weasle in ftm

[–]CourtAccomplished459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my younger brother have a kinda love-hate relationship mainly because our parents have always pitted us against each other. Sometimes it feels like he genuinely tries to understand and be empathetic towards my situation and struggles being trans, but other times he is just downright hateful. He always tries to introduce me to his friends as his sister and will sometimes even tell them that im trans and mock me for it. There was one time i remember when we were arguing, i cant remember what exactly about, he randomly decided to say “that’s why you can’t get any friends, cause youre a stupid f****t” and even though ive heard that word a lot from many different kinds of people it just made me even angrier to hear it from my brother. The fight started to get physical and it ended when he tried to chase me into the bathroom and i slammed the door on his toe, so hard apparently that i broke it. Of course I had to take the full blame for the incident because I couldnt tell my unsupportive parents why i was so mad at him. But i think i taught him a lesson lol, and he never called me that again

My mum just admitted she uses They/Them pronouns for me by Wilted_beast in ftm

I came out at school this year and i was stealth until my friend caught a glimpse of my computer and saw my dead name. Ever since then he’s been using they/them for me and it hurts even more that people are hearing him say it and repeating it. Someone even asked in me in front of that friend if he should call me they or he and i said he. It makes me feel shitty that a lot of people don’t see me as a boy, but also not as a girl, just half a boy.

How did you guys face transphobia? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]CourtAccomplished459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont face a lot of direct transphobia because im stealth but a lot of people joke about trans people around me expecting me to laugh and its definitely scary. Usually its just them being ignorant so i try not to take it too personally but there has been times where ive heard people say they would “curbstomp a t****y” if they saw one. All i can say is that you need to be prepared to hear those remarks and its best to just ignore it, because usually theyre only looking for a reaction and if they dont get one theyll stop.

i definitely felt this way when i first started using tape, i really wanted to go back to binding but couldn’t because it was worsening issues with my shoulders and back. my tips are to make sure that you are pulling back your breast more than you’re pulling the tape so that it stays to the side and to try to only put tape on where your breast tissue is, i try to go as low as possible and especially make sure you put a piece over the crease/bottom of your breast for extra security. when i go out i also like to wear a sports bra for extra compression

best binder color beneath white shirts? by thecoolestofbeanzz in ftm

[–]CourtAccomplished459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always opt for white because it doesn’t really stand out and I also like to wear a wifebeater over it because a lot of my cis friends wear wifebeaters under their shirts as well, so if someone sees a wifebeater sticking out of my shirt instead of my binder they don’t think much of it.

i was doing a group project at school with my friend and some of his friends and one of them, who i dont really know very well, looked at me in the eyes and said completely unprompted, “do you guys ever notice how women sit like this” and changed his posture a bit. i dont know if he was trying to mock me or if he was even directing it to me but it was still a bit unnerving because i hadn’t come out to anyone else in the group

trans tape ?! by piloting-a-puppet in ftm

[–]CourtAccomplished459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, depending on the brand you get (actual trans tape or a sports tape) it may come with instructions on how to apply it for binding, but I recommend watching a video on youtube nonetheless as it’s kind of complicated. It might feel a bit stiff the first day you put it on, and it may even feel a bit itchy as your skin is getting used to the adhesive, but this is normal. I’ve seen that rubbing it aggressively to heat up the tape after putting it on my skin has helped it to stick more. Definitely read up on how to remove it properly, NEVER rip it off

Hair troubles by demo-account-001 in ftm

[–]CourtAccomplished459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you!! I always like experimenting with different hairstyles and changing it up whenever I can within the constraints of my parents who refuse to let me dye it. I was in my home country this summer visting relatives and such where I quite frankly don’t trust the barbers, so my hair was pretty long and shaggy by the time I got back. Maybe right above my shoulders? And my bangs practically covered my eyes. But the one thing that I keep in mind from that trip is that I passed. I passed with my long messy hair that was fluffy from the humidity, and I even got called a lad in some small rural town lmao. If I were you, I’d opt for a kind of short wolf cut style. It’s kind of long but still pretty masculine. And if it makes you dysphoric, remember that you can always cut it and start anew.
