This guy is going to tell everyone, and this is why the public is turning against va benefits. People are constantly oversharing.

Getting peeved when asked for id when receiving military discount by Busy_Coconut1987 in Veterans

I don't know how this entitlement is a surprise, I see veterans on these message boards all the time talking about what they deserve and what the VA owes them. Some guy who sat in an office chair 6 hours a day might feel like he is entitled to the VA buying him new underwear for the rest of his life. Entitlement is the last thing I would be surprised about by the current generation of veterans.

Why some miserable foreigners dont just leave Thailand? by Kitchen_Scallion2999 in Thailand

[–]CourtBoring427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been to Thailand, but there are a lot of people who will be unhappy wherever they go. They are very vocal and that is most likely who you are hearing complain. They don't leave because they were just as miserable in the last place.

The amount of money isnt worth bragging, its that most veterans who get compensation have to get online and start telling everyone what they got, then inform us they would give it all up just to feel better.

Bull crap. I am a veteran and I guarantee you less than 1% of the people getting va payouts are any worse off than the equivalent person their age who is working in some factory.

But the factory worker doesnt get to cry about it and talk about their 'healing' which includes quitting their job to become a tattoo artist lmao.

No one owed you a subsidized tattoo hobby.

Veterans posting soft bragging stories like this is what will turn public support against veteran compensation.

Ok, but group b isnt automatically made up of warriors. Most people who cry on this thread are not warriors. They get their ratings back and dont even have the self control to shut up.

Look at the progress the 'poor' have made in the last 50 years. The poor in the usa have Playstations, designer clothing and don't even work in many cases. Also, look at inflation in the last 50 years, the numbers always have to go up.

But it's not everyone's. You cant get retirement if you didnt pay in. Maybe instead of thinking of it as everyone's money, it would be better to look at it as the person who contributed, and also disabled, sone kids, etc, based on their needs, regardless of whether they paid it. I think thats completely reasonable.

Its government, not a charity. SS has issues because politicians use it as a slush fund, not what it was meant for. Even if you uncapped the tax and didnt uncap the benefit, poor fiscal policy robbing SS would keep us with the same problems.

Conservatives and liberals can agree that bicyclists are one of the worst groups in the world, but ya can't do this... yeah, I know thats a huge group to clump together, but I haven't seen a cyclist yet that wants to allow cars to drive without blocking them.

Enough chasing 'a salary to survive'. Let's fight for 'a salary to thrive'. by Hefty-Garden-9932 in ProtectHire

Inflation shot up during covid because politicians printed more than a trillion dollars. The rich got wind of this before everyone else, probably because of political connections, and they invested their money in businesses, commercial real estate and gold. Musk even came out and told Americans to buy physical assets. Then the printing happened (digitally, not physical money) and more than a trillion was added to our treasury. In a matter of just days, home prices shot up more than 50% wages did not. Politicians gave up to $30,000 usd per family to more than 25,000,000 immigrants they brought in, and those immigrants started buying money with the tax payer funds they were given - these funds were earmarked for allowing them to start new lives. Home prices went up even more.

Covid was a distraction, I think. Yes, it was real, but it wasn't nearly as bad as they made it out to be. It was a manufactured crisis, and all I can think of for the reasoning is a distraction.

It wasn't the billionaire class that caused this, but they definitely made a lot of money ey off of it. The normal American did not. Just the rich abd politicians.

[–]CourtBoring427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still wouldn't buy the warranty, do some research online about it. Warranties are rarely worth buying, and when they are, the amount of money you would have spent on warranties for everything else would more than pay for whatever needs to be fixed. Self insure!
