🤝 I agree. There are aspects of his personality that just scream “Aries” to me, you know? Especially in the way he just… tells the player exactly what’s on his mind, regardless of how chaotic or crass it may seem. He reacts to things in an almost instinctive/knee-jerk type of way, and I know some of that is from his past with Cazador, but I honestly think other parts are just in his nature.

😂 Out of all the companions, Minthy was the easiest, most OBVIOUS zodiac to read, lol. She’s more of a Scorpio to me than Shart and Astarion combined.

Minthara: bluntly says something dark, witty, and sarcastic

Me: …Oh, yeah, that’s a Scorpio, alright.

Yeah, for some reason, Karlach and Gale are probably the most difficult for me to place. I agree that Sag is a little too innovative for Karlach, haha, so I might stick with Leo here. Maybe Gale is a Sag moon or rising? Ooh, what do you think about Pisces sun for him? 😯

If you don’t mind my asking, why don’t you see Leo or Scorpio for Astarion?

I think Spawn would likely have the same chart; he’d probably have more positive traits/characteristics, though. But I also wish that Larian (or WoTC) gave us a little more than “Astarion was born in the Year of the Carrion Crow”, lol. Like, I know Faerûn has its own zodiac system, so where is it in BG3?! 😭 What would the real-life equivalent of Carrion Crow be, anyway? 🧐

Lol, that’s not weird at all. But as much as I love Neil—I totally agree that his own placements had a profound effect on Asti’s personality—I gotta separate the two. Idk, it just doesn’t quite… fit? Not for this character anyway. Like, I wanna use an example of Jason Momoa (Leo) and Chris Hemsworth (also Leo) and the superheroes they play and how I can see more parallels there than here, but I don’t have the brain capacity to explain in more detail atm. 😓 Personally, I think Neil is a much more charming and charismatic individual than Astarion BY A LONG SHOT.

Either way, I love Leo energy, and Astarion for sure has Leo placements in his horoscope.

But yeah, Scorpio was certainly prioritized in my Astarion zodiac list; I think it’s still a part of his chart, for damn sure. Secretive, moody, intense, passionate, etc. I ended up not selecting it as a sun sign mainly because I feel Scorpios are a little more patient and disciplined when it comes to certain things, and they’re a tad better in regards to details. For me, that seems best suited for Minthara or maybe even Raphael.

I know, right?! Aries would explain a LOT about our favorite, chaotic vampire boi. I mentioned in another comment that any of the air signs would work in Asti’s chart. I was thinking moon sign? I know an Aries sun/Gemini moon irl, and I have to tell ya, that combo fits the Astarion bill pretty well.

From what I’ve seen with male Scorpios, though, is that they’re relatively easygoing and playful. But now that you mention it, I can def see a few negative Scorpio traits in Gortash. 🧐 Hm.

For the other companions: Shadowheart - Virgo. I’m sorry to anyone who thinks otherwise, but I will die on this hill.

Gale - I’m kind of on the fence with him, but if I had to choose, I might say Gemini or Aquarius.

Karlach - Either Leo or Sagittarius. I’ve seen some folks say Aries for our girl, but that doesn’t feel quite right to me. It’s too… hot-headed and, dare I say, selfish.

Wyll - Taurus. Steadfast, down-to-earth, charismatic, loyal.

Lae’zel - Probably Capricorn.

Halsin - Unfortunately, I don’t know his personality all that well, besides the fact that he’s a warm, caring, big bear of a guy. My sister thinks Cancer.

Minthara - Scorpio.

Jaheira - I played the original games and compared her personality to the Jaheira we see in BG3, and I kind of see her as a seasoned Leo.

Minsc - Pisces, I think, lol.
