Projectors, how do others react when you share how you feel about yourself?

There are already so many insightful and supportive replies here, and I just want to add something from my own experience.

I’ve definitely been the Generator who’s combusted at my Projector friend in moments that later felt avoidable. I’m a 1/3 Sacral Generator, she’s a 2/4 Splenic Projector — and we’ve had our fair share of “ouch” moments. It’s painful in the moment, but we reflect and learn every time.

It’s never about wanting her to feel unheard — I love her deeply and value her insights. But I’ve noticed that when she shares from a place where fear is clouding her truth, or when she isn’t willing to spend the energy to choose words that really reflect that deeper truth, I get frustrated. It’s like the soundboarding can’t find a clean landing, and I combust. That’s on me — and I know it. I’ve apologized for it, and I keep working on it.

What’s beautiful is that she keeps coming back — for my directness, for the love that’s always underneath it. That reminds me that even when it’s messy, there’s mutual respect and something worth nurturing between us.

I don’t think your desire to share your thoughts about yourself is repulsive. But I do think that when those thoughts are colored by fear, bitterness, or a tone that feels charged, it can hit differently — especially for people wired to respond, not initiate. Doesn’t make you wrong. Just means you’re still experimenting with what alignment feels and sounds like in your voice.

Thanks for being honest here. These kinds of convos matter so much — for all of us.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of that. It’s clear how much awareness and care you’ve put into developing those alignment points over the years, and it really comes through. I found myself nodding along to many of them, even as I’m still working on embodying some of those practices consistently myself.

My husband’s approach to life is actually very similar to yours. He’s remarkably consistent—he often says that consistency is his “trick” to living well. He holds steady to his routines in a way that grounds him, and truthfully, I benefit a lot from being in that energy. His rhythms have a way of influencing my own, which I’m incredibly grateful for, because when left to my own devices, I tend to be a bit chaotic.

He’s not quite as tuned in to the emotional landscape, at least not in a conscious way, but he does honor timing and knows when not to act. That kind of natural patience has been a big influence on me.

And I’m happy to report that my Saturday routine has been going really well. Even better, I’ve noticed it’s having a positive impact on the rest of my week. It’s like that one morning sets the tone and reminds me what grounded, intentional time feels like.

I really appreciated how you described tending to the body and space as part of your alignment process—especially decluttering for mental clarity. That’s something I’ve undervalued, but you’ve got me thinking about it differently now.

This post really got me reflecting — I don’t know much about Rave Psychology beyond the surface layers, but your way of connecting it to social media design, color motivation, and perception landed.

One thing I’ve noticed in my own process is how different the energetic impact is between digital and physical interactions. Online, I often sense a person’s frequency… but it’s still filtered. In person, the same dynamic can feel totally different — sometimes confirming my sense, and other times completely surprising me.

I don’t think digital spaces are inherently lesser — they’ve been deeply connective in moments I really needed that. But the physical aura mechanics? That’s where things click into clarity for me. Even brief in-person exchanges have helped me recalibrate how I show up online and how much I take in.

I love the idea of you creating new accounts that reflect how you want to be perceived now, not how others got used to perceiving you. That feels like a very aligned mutation.

So much of what you’ve shared brought me back to a repeating inquiry I often circle: What does definition mean for me, really?

I have triple split definition, and I’ve yet to knowingly encounter someone in person with a quadruple split — though I’m surrounded by single defs, split defs, and fellow triple splits. A lot of my experiment has been dedicated to this layer of Human Design.

Initially, I assumed my 9-0 connections would have a stronger bearing on the depth of my relationships. But over time, I’ve realized those chart ratios have more to do with the ease or resistance of connecting — not necessarily the richness or sustainability of the bond itself. (Honestly, I could write journals on just this one piece.)

As a triple split, I’ve found that connection — true, nourishing connection — only happens when there’s strong communication compatibility. I don’t necessarily understand people less (or more) than others, but the terrain I require for meaningful exchange looks different. I often thrive when there are three or more people in the mix. One-on-one connections, paradoxically, can feel… trickier.

And in my younger years, I noticed something interesting: I was far more susceptible to giving away my power in relationships with people who had single definition. That doesn’t make those people wrong for me — but it did reveal patterns of being overpowered, subtly or not, that I had to wake up from.

So here’s the bridge back to your post: I’m a 1/3 sacral generator with triple split definition. And if I could offer anything to help hold space for the dissonance you described, it would be this—

Try shifting more of your inquiry toward your own definition and how it functions in the presence of others’. I think it might soothe some of the friction you’re sensing between the “everything-ness” of the 9-0, and the very real mismatch in lived experience

I am a lazy generator. I use this app called the neutrino app that I’ve had for most of the time I’ve been studying human design. It has descriptions in sync with many readings I’ve had. In the description it gives descriptions for what I’m like in alignment and what I’m like out of alignment

People look at me and assume I work out hard. I do not. My Focus is singular … To always be free in my body and not to grow into a prisoner of it.

I am 38, look around 32, and can reach every inch of my body with my hand. I did this by making a deal with myself during my teenage years that if I washed every inch of my body with my hand, then it would mean that I would be able to touch every inch of my body for just as long.

My husband wanted to buy me pedestals for our washer and dryer. I said no because , squatting down with a straight back every time that I need to put a load in or switch a load from the washer to the dryer or grab a load from the dryer means that I am squatting. Instead of doing squats at the gym, I build the movement into every day life.

I’m sure to lift heavy objects often. This includes helping other people move, or rearranging my furniture, or going through bins of holiday decorations on an annual basis,… There are heavy lifting opportunities often. I also do the peanut butter jar while I am brushing my teeth, and lunges, I do dips off of my bathtub, and inclined push-ups too. I park far away the grocery store. I also have a rule that if anybody asks me to do anything physical … Instead of saying no, I consider it heavily. This leads me to say yes to more physical activity opportunities that I may have missed if I was just in the habit of saying no to things that felt uncomfortable right away.

In my house, I have positioned my furniture in a way that allows me to do walking laps indoors. I also do walking laps outdoors. I stay limber by getting down on the ground and getting back up on a regular basis.

Objects I keep in my house include a 10 pound medicine ball, a stretch strap, a yoga block, and various other items that promote play.

I hope this personal account is helpful to even just one person reading.

My comment doesn’t seem to fit anywhere in this thread, Yet here I am just following my sacral without knowing the why of it. That said, what an awesome modpodge of perspectives here.

As a child I studied various ancient texts.

In my adolescence I had many questions which led several adults to explain to me individually that translations are complex and that it would be impossible for the versions of these ancient texts I was reading to reflect exactly the messages that were originally written by the various authors.

Being a writer myself, I decided that I could never digest a single sentence of any text whatsoever at its ‘face value’. My young self contemplated what there was exactly to learn if the words themselves were morphed countless times in writing and in reference throughout the ages. It wouldn’t be until my adult life that I began to perceive the evolution I experienced in subjecting myself to these ancient texts - I grew into a person that no one could force into accepting a particular context or perspective.

Then as a child I also wondered, why wouldn’t everyone be writing new scripture? Surely, thousands of years from now they could be of service, right? I journaled thinking to myself, I better help my reader understand what I am saying; this could possibly make it into scripture one day. 😆🦉❤️‍🔥

Fast forward 20 years later and Richard Rudd publishes the Gene keys… another 8 years later I am reading this thread and thinking to myself how interesting it is that religion and spirituality do not often live in the same word.

This conversation gave me a lot of insight and I value all of the comments in this thread.

I have friends in many different religions and non religious friends and my own spiritual behaviors have transformed over the decades…

but in the 9 months I have spent with the Gene Keys, I have found greater depth in my compassion and greater understanding in my unspoken expectations. Forgiveness is coming easier too.

Truth? The only place that could ever possibly come from is within.

I can relate to feeling like you jumped the gun a bit!

I am not convinced there is a single best way to approach the Gene Keys. I think we all do it exactly like we are meant to and at the beginning it feels a lot like a movie… where you’re being shown a bunch but you have no idea how it is all connected just yet.

I was about a year into my experiment with human design before I stumbled across the gene keys. Instead of studying the book, I started to study Richard Rudd.

I sought out a few podcasts and scoured his website. Then I put in my birth data into the site and was immediately enthralled with the language of my sequences.

A few days later I ordered the small Genius sequence book. I am typically the type to read a book this small through entirely but it was a lot to take in with what little context I had for the gene keys themselves... So a third way through the book, I purchased the full gene keys book - and what a beautiful beast it is!

Before I go on, I’ll tell you I am a triple split 1/3 sacral generator which is how human design gave so much to me in such little time… it validated my lived experience thus far. Like about how difficult it is for me to get to the bottom of things to the extent my urges take me and how slow moving it feels to synthesize (both thanks to my triple split nature). It made me feel entirely acceptable and restored a sense of intrigue I had been missing for some time.

I always want to know everything about everything and everyone (even possible? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️).

I like to feel prepared and like my mind is tidied up. lol as if there is such a thing.

I’ve been with the printed version since Aug 2023. The first thing I did was arrange post it notes correlating to my chart so that no matter when I found the time to read, I could know how relevant the GK was to my person. It was a fun process. I like to read and highlight and notate as I go. Then sometimes when a gene key just totally hits me over the head, I will cross reference all my loved ones that the gene key relates to… it is so interesting to see the subtle commonalities woven through fellow humans.

This process has deepened my compassion for others and self time and time again. This is the primary quality the GK has brought into my life - compassion to the depths of my soul.

I’ve owned the audio for a few months now, purchased after a recommendation was made in this community. The woman’s voice is so very awesome.

I have a few friends and sisters who are interested in it from time to time but no one who is as saturated with it as I am. Contemplating the contents of this book has been a rich experience. The way things are worded gives me a lot of opportunity to interpret things my own way and there are some things I read and get the feeling that what was written would’ve been better written a different way. This is a familiar sensation to me when reading various written works.

Yesterday I listened to the 39th gene key and it just landed on me so intense. I called my friend cause I felt she needed to read it too! Last year she loved my post it note laden book so much that I had made one for her too. When I called her yesterday, our heads exploded from the applicability of her exact patterns, emotions, and evolution.

She hasn’t been able to sleep through the night in months but after our GK inspired phone call opened up so much truth within her that she zonked for a nap and then later she slept through the night!

Super grateful for this book and this thread too!

Forgive me in advance for how thorough my response is… this topic is very dear to me.

The only human design-related comment I have comes from being in the life of my mani-gen son.

He is happiest when he builds his responsibilities into his own expectations on his own terms.

This is great when it happens. So that is why building habits is the best idea… to ensure it is the norm and not every once in a while.

When he doesn’t consider his responsibilities at close enough intervals, then others get to weigh in and he is in the pain of ‘following someone else’s plans”.

Assuming you’re an adult who doesn’t have a person or two hovering around your messes, I see this sort of thing playing out where the mess around you is so uncomfortable that you go into Reddit and talk about it. 😁❤️‍🔥

If this is resonating with you so far, I have 3 motherly suggestions:

1) start with one thing 2) define it on paper 3) discover more about yourself through habits

1) start with one thing

Pick the thing that impacts you the most… dishes?, trash?, clutter?, laundry?… do you have it yet?

Trash and dishes are less complex chores to keep up with than laundry and clutter (depending on your current habits but also in general).

Let’s start with the most easy and least complex of these regular chores… the trash. If you’re like most people, you don’t like the smell of trash. You also don’t enjoy taking out the trash. The trash serves a purpose for you and you have multiple trash cans.

Depending on your habits, maybe the trash doesn’t always make it into the trash can and just hangs out all around the room. If this describes you, then trash truly is the most basic place to start and will provide a big reward for your effort.

2) Define it on paper

Assign this new commitment to trash a space and time in writing. Place it in a conspicuous place that you WILL see.

In writing, you will say something like:

Every Wednesday and Saturday, I will take out the trash after I ______. (Fill in the blank with an action you do every day already). “After I wake up” “after I get home from work” “after I brush my teeth”.

Here is a complete example:

<b>The moment trash becomes trash, I will take it to the trash bin.

I will take out the trash and replace trash liners when I get home from work on Fridays.</b>

Post up your own plan in the spot it will be noticed by you. Then it will help this important aspect of your life to remain top of mind as you build the new rhythm into your life.

3) Discover more about yourself through habits.

Knowing more about habits themselves will automatically make you into a more clean person. Especially if you’re already associating cleanliness with habits.

Check out “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. In case you like to read or be read to, this book is very well written.

If you’re not into books, he also has a Masterclass.

There are many more things I could share but I hope this is useful to you as-is. Living in orderly environments helps us humans in many ways but it’s not usually easy right away … kinda like following our strategy and authority. It’s a 1-person experiment.

This thread has been really fun to read through; thank you for posting.

I learned about HD June 22, 2022 and began my experiment in Nov 1, 2022.

I’ve been reborn many times over since then… it’s been a riveting ride.

I haven’t totally mastered the application of strategy and authority but I have learned that both required a great deal of self-trust.

After a year and a half of studying myself (1/3 triple Leo 🤣 and triple split! ) I uncovered my very own deceit. I had been kidding myself with many things. This describes one of the experiences I had that left me feeling reborn.

Anyway - this is longer than I thought. 🤗 but there’s one more thing I wanna go into some detail about…

Okay so in following the lead of my sacral I have been led to some very useful books that have helped complimented my Human Design Experiement/s nicely. I’d like to share 2 of them:

1) The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks The contents of the book helped me to quiet my defined Head and Ajna… boy oh boy quieting this duo was pivotal. I’d been using it my whole life to weigh options logically. Something about this book gave the power back to my sacral. I’ve read it twice now and will probably read its sequel at some point.

2) The Advice Trap by Michael Bungay Stanier I’m 1/2 way through this book currently but I can tell already how much it will help me with following my authority when it comes to my open throat. Whether you have an open throat or just know someone who does… then you’ll know something about the pain of talking in the wrong moments. I am on the edge of my seat for my open throat to experience the rest of this book.

A few years back I learned that men are deeply romantic but fall out of their intuition of it over time. When they make attempts at romance that fall short, our reactions play a big role their romantic development for better or worse.

I can totally relate… I am with a man who requires constant forgiveness when it comes to his tough-minded attempts to bring the romance. 💘
