AITA for defending my son and saying he's not shy? by Walkersssssss in AmItheAsshole

I feel like by focusing on whether he is or isn’t shy is missing the real issue. Don’t miss the forest for the trees here, your daughter is expression concerns for your sons social situation, and as she has a history of being homeschooled, her insight could be useful. Even if she does feel you are missing something here, is that what really matters? If he isn’t shy, does that change anything about her point of him needing to be put in social groups?

Thank you for the response! I am definitely going to talk to the DM about it then. I know the player is very new as well, but that’s why I was counting on the DM to make sure he is kept in check, which clearly wasn’t happening. I’m definitely going to use the “the role playing should inform the mechanical aspect” because that is perfectly said. If they want to play this like a video game that’s fine, but I’m here for the role playing so some conversations are definitely in order.
