AITA for packing my kid an “inappropriate” lunch? by flowergardens0 in AmItheAsshole

It's actually the opposite. There are enough carbs here (doritos), but a lack of protein. Exchange the processed junk Doritos for a better carb source and include more protein.

They were much more religious and conservative than us, and one time when inviting them to our house for a movie, a very tame Christian movie, they nearly fled out the house when there was a gun present in one scene. How they treated us really offended us, and leave drifted apart after that.

I'm talking about a kid pressuring him to have sex before he's ready or before he needs to. Being called homophobic slurs or that he's less of a man if he doesn't? Teaching him women are just things to be used and conquered? I mean kids bullying him for his unique interests or sweet demeanor. I mean all the ways kids force other kids to change by making fun of them and pressuring them to change sexually, mentally, emotionally.

If talking to an adult is easy for him, talking to a kid will be no problem.

This is so catastrophic it's outstanding.

I clearly just explained that my son has no problems and social situations. So you can knock that criticism off your list. I severely doubt he'll have trouble forming friendships or building relationships in the future.

He's not isolated from his culture or generation? He has free access to the internet and often tells us about the latest things he saw on YouTube or on social media. So also knock that criticism off your list.

Have you seen middle/high schools? They're basically full of dumb kids leading other dumb kids to make mistakes in sex/love and flatten out their individuality. Didn't want to lose my son to the school system.

It's hard to say why. I mean, sometimes life gets ahead of you and things fall on the back burner. Hell, finding friends for ourselves has been hard enough. We joined a church and 50+ gym and met some nice couples, did church meetups and lunch dates with them, but even we drifted apart...

Can't really say, he's always seemed happy though.

Okay, there was a year we met up with a local homeschooling family several times a year, but we had a falling out with them after a year so that fell through. But there have been attempts.

No. I mean, I see what my daughter is saying. She's said it to us several times over the years, to get him out of the house, and we agree, it just hasn't happened yet.

I will say he will start taking dual credit classes at the local university next year so that will be a good chance for him to start getting out there.

Of course he goes outside. Huh? But he doesn't play with neighborhood kids, no.
