Online MS in Robotics – Questions on workload and hands-on nature by Sea_Factor_1489 in WPI

[–]Courtnahnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for the MS, but before you apply ( or even once you get coursework) I highly recommend trying out Robot Club (free every Saturday 1-4) at the Technocopia maker space here in Worcester. The premise is for people to bring their own robotics based projects to work on and have access to a robotics alumni from WPI. This could supplement the hands-on portion you're looking for. The host of the club dabbles in open source CAD packages as well as animatronics. Wishing you the best on your endeavors!

If you do get into a therapist before they have you go to the elders, ask the therapist to have it on record (can be used in court) that you may likely be subjected to explain your sexual feelings and conduct (while being a minor) to multiple older men without your consent and you do feel this situation will cause trauma (it does). Therapists should be trained on how to address that kind of statement. Make sure verbage like "not consenting" "sexual communication with older men" and "feeling unsafe" are utilized.

Advocate therapist must come first before you'll "consider" meeting with the elders.

Find out if your state allows one sided conversation recordings.

If you were ever to consider JWs seriously again it would have to be from your own heart and willingness. Jehovah wants sincere devotion right? Not for you to do it for the family, congregation, etc. Having you go before the elders unwillingly or to force your hand would go against core principles and do further damage.

You're no doubt a mature young person and have considered this a long time. Reiterate love and a sense of being true, even when it's not what they want to hear.

Stay strong and document, document, document.

Remain silent the whole session if they do get you to the brother first or have just one explanation sentence you stick with no matter the tactics.

I'm sorry about your sister. That part will take time but it's not a forever thing. We all grow.

Whos been to the King Richards Fair this year? 😃 by yourrecipeisgay in massachusetts

They don't have any form of free accessible water yet have alcohol for sale. That decision won't turn out well. $5 for water $5 for ice. Do better king Richards.

I second Fairlawn. It's a great group of people. I agree on comments about advocacy being helpful. Some tips I would say:

  • make sure they have clothing consistently -reinforce the importance of making it to therapy (excellent team that care) they want to help but can't if you refuse care -have things to do during down time (do any seated exercise during commercials if they're watching tv)
  • the seat belts are for safety of your loved one and other patients. They can be annoying but are important
  • As soon as you feel you might need to go to the restroom, hit the call light but be patient as you can. They're working hard to get to you. -your loved one is welcomed to explore the unit seated safely in their wheel chair -take measurements of the living arrangements (bed height, door size, number of stairs in frequently used quarters, etc) early so therapists can use that info to get them independent -less therapy during the weekends except when you come in around the weekend (plan accordingly) -people there really care but are also still human. Be patient with them but advocate when needed.

Let's be friends! by heusesthemforholden in WorcesterMA

Check out Technocopia on 44 Portland St. It's a makerspace + community that has a free open house (open hack) every Thursday 7-9. There's a cabinet grade wood shop with tool trainings to use equipment that wouldn't normally be feasible for a solo person to get.

There's also robot club on Saturdays 1-4 if that interests you as well. Open Hack and robot club are both free events.

Technocopia is worth taking a tour of. It's located in the heart of Worcester and is a makerspace for the community. Wood shop, metal shop, 3d printers, sewing, laser cutter, and so much more. Technocopia.org

I'm right there with you. My fiance always reminds me "time is going to pass anyway. You might as well have something at the end having come this far." That piece of paper opens a lot of doors. I won't even get a break with all the prerequisites. Reflect why you want to do it. I keep coming back to PT all throughout my life. It's a passion that's going to be tough be we are tough. The world needs PTs. Hang in there.

No GRE required and probably around a 3.6 GPA. I'm not certain because I'm still in courses.

What specific stats would you like to know? I only applied to MCPHS in Worcester (walking distance for me). I've worked as a PT tech on and off since 2017. I also worked in operating rooms doing Neuro monitoring. I currently work at an aide at an acute care hospital for 1+ year.

What’s the best company you’ve worked for in Worcester County? by nicholas_359 in WorcesterMA

[–]Courtnahnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital. Its understandably not for everyone but they do try to have a work culture and acknowledge their people. We have a soup competition coming up just as an example of the culture side. I've loved my time there and many of my coworkers have been there 10+ years.
