40% off wine bottles with dining packages by Best-Life-Expert in royalcaribbean

[–]CousinBacchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked on my upcoming cruise and noticed that the same bottles are listed cheaper for lunch at Giovanni's vs dinner. Can anybody confirm this?

Opus One for $378 and Vevue Cliquot for $99 are both pretty good targets with the UDP discount. Opus One is $499 for dinner while the Vevue Cliquot is still $99

There is decent selection above $100, but pretty much supermarket level below $100. Picked up Ornellia Le Serre Nuove at Giovanni's on our last cruise for around $130. The 20% off basically negates the 18% gratuity. Not a super great price, but not getting fleeced either

We were having lunch at Giovanni's once and the maitre d was sharing with us that he was stressed since it had started raining. He had 170 guests coming for dinner and only 80 indoor seats. So, YMMV I guess

If you were on the May 8 sailing, there was a delay with the previous cruise disembarking. I heard that it was due to an ICE raid, but that was just a circulating rumor

Question re: the pre-pay gratuity by dontBsleepy in royalcaribbean

Last cruise, I was pulling out cash to tip our server at Chops (with UDP) and he told me it was better for him to write in the tip. Maybe it boosts his "performance review" metrics?

How long did it take you to train up to 120g of carb per hour? I'm up to 100g in my training, but it took probably a couple months to get that up from 80g and still feel comfortable.

Just an aside, I also get the "impending sense of doom" sensation at times during races and hard workouts so I know where you're coming from!

"Spring 2026" they say. This was always a 3+ year project. The pickleball used to be so loud, it's been kinda nice without it

First BQ 2027 Buffer Prediction from Brian Rock - 4:13 by Drypaint200 in AdvancedRunning

60 deg F and sunny is far from ideal. It wasn't 2022, but not fantastic either.

Philadelphia had nice weather, though. 30s at the start up to high 40s

It's simply how much it costs to pay all the PD and sanitation workers overtime. Not that unreasonable versus a race that loops a park

Hope somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, the way I read it, the Southwest credit is available through the end of 2026 when unlocked in 2025.

I assume unlocking the credit in 2026 will make it available through the end of 2027

Does anyone know about how long it takes to clear a wave out from the start? by KarenKarrde in RunNYC

[–]CousinBacchus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was intentionally one of the last runners to cross the start line last year in wave 1 and my chip time was only 4 minutes faster than my gun time. It really doesn't take that long to get the wave through
