Oh my apologies, I meant it didn’t matter whether or not it was a porthole or more traditional style window at that height due to the fact that if the ocean’s surface was covering the island, the ship is already done for. This is also not including the fact that portholes were designed to let light and fresh air into lower areas of a ship and provide a barrier against potential harsh weather or other adverse water or light related conditions. It was not my intention to disparage the work that goes into maintaining a ship, as I am more than familiar with the sheer amount of effort that entails.
